Even ‘Shock-a-holic’ presidents can’t stampede nations into mass hysteria

Hard to hang onto Big Boo Man Status when so many of your observers know that when it comes to Ebola, Obama long ago mounted his girly bike and rode off into the do-nothing sunset.

That Americans aren’t caving in to widespread hysteria on the current Ebola outbreak scare is a major headache for propagandist president Barack Hussein Obama.

BHO must have been in a real flap when he took to the microphones for his weekly radio address on Saturday: “This is a serious disease,” he said, “but we can’t give in to hysteria or fear, because that only makes it harder to get people the accurate information they need.” (Los Angeles Times, Oct. 18, 2014)

“Trying to calm an increasingly alarmed public, President Obama on Saturday urged Americans to keep the Texas Ebola cases “in perspective,” as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention prepared new guidelines for healthcare workers who might handle patients with the deadly virus.”

There just are not enough ebola cases, much less deaths, in the US to make it a major concern.

But time will tell, as it seems to be already telling.

If the reinfection rate is higher than 1.0 then you have a high potential for a pandemic. The CDC has estimated the reinfection rate, R, as higher than 1.7. That is near disaster level.

Yes, but it depends on empirical numbers. We don’t have that in this country yet.

To give an example: Let’s say that the guy in dallas slept with 8 women when he was really sick and all eight caught it. Though, tecnically that would be a reinfection rate of 8, it would be a very misleading number.
