Obama's "Affordable Health Care" Making health care unaffordable.

As the New York Times explains,

Patricia Wanderlich got insurance through the Affordable Care Act this year, and with good reason: She suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2011, spending weeks in a hospital intensive care unit, and has a second, smaller aneurysm that needs monitoring.

But her new plan has a $6,000 annual deductible, meaning that Ms. Wanderlich, who works part time at a landscaping company outside Chicago, has to pay for most of her medical services up to that amount. She is skipping this year’s brain scan and hoping for the best.

“To spend thousands of dollars just making sure it hasn’t grown?” said Ms. Wanderlich, 61. “I don’t have that money.”

Patricia Wanderlich may well "bend the cost curve down" (in Obama's famous phrase) by dying from an unmonitored aneurysm on her brain. I suspect that was always part of the plan.

If you were one of Obama's "1%" a $6000 deductible would not be a big deal to monitor a blood vessel whose bursting could kill you or put you in a coma for the rest of your life. For people like Patricia Wanderlich, taking a pain pill will have to do.

As we can see from the Obama administration's reaction to Ebola, individuals don't count. It's the collective that's important. If a few, or a few hundred or even a few thousand die in a country of 300 million, the theoreticians and ideologues are willing to make that sacrifice. Especially because they are certain that they won't be the ones dying.

This is government run health care.

We are both Medicare and Tricare Life. We are told what test, how often they can be run, where to buy even our daily meds. Some test are not even allowed. Have a bad back that nerve blocks are controlling, to bad all you can have is 3 nerve blocks a year. “For you own good”

My old health insurance cost me about one-eighty a month, but it had a thousand dollar deductible (I think. It no longer exists for obvious reasons). My new plan, gained through work but clearly touched by dear leader, costs about forty dollars less, but has a five thousand dollar deductible.

And I just found out that it only lasts through January. I have to re-register for it since open enrollment is starting, and I have no idea what the new costs are.

It’s becoming harder and harder not to spit in the faces of people who think dear leader has done this country a lick of good.

For the Left, individuals are only important when the socialists are trying to justify their proposed legislation. That’s when they trot out individuals who can’t get coverage. After the law is passed, the socialists no longer care about individuals.

As long as everybody gets the same lousy treatment, they don’t care if the treatment is lousy, or if it’s deteriorating. (However, if members of their own family are affected, the elite often try to get their relatives special treatment. See how Congress maintains D.C.’s educational system, and then see where the Congress critters and Obama send their kids.)

What’s worse is that there are ordinary people out there who will chew you out for being ungrateful for the government’s “care”.

When is the last time the name on a Dim bill was not the exact opposite of what it was intended to do?

What’s worse is that there are ordinary people out there who will chew you out for being ungrateful for the government’s “care” that a majority of Americans opposed and are funding.

Where are you getting your insurance?? I have been told that I cannot renew my plan through my business when it expires next month because it doesn’t meet the requirements. I have to register for an individual family policy. The cheapest price I can get is almost $1300/mo for an HSA with a very high deductible. More than double what I was paying. And no longer able to pay through my business as a write-off

I’m really praying nothing serious happens in our family. The deductible would devastate us.

The deductibles get you on the front side, and the caps finish you off on the back side. Welcome to the partnership of government, insurance and the medical industry. Individuals don’t count for squat.

Imagine how much Obama could get done without pesky elections and legislatures.
