HOUSTON, Texas -- As Ebola grips Texas, Governor Rick Perry is nowhere to be found. This week the governor is on a previously-scheduled trip to Europe. His absence during this trying time not only questions how seriously he takes the threat of the deadly virus, but also marks a missed opportunity for him to appear presidential prior to the 2016 elections.
Perry will be visiting England, Germany, Poland and Ukraine to spreading his message of economic prosperity and business development. He will also be exploring "opportunities to expand the export of liquefied natural gas from Texas to Poland and Ukraine," according to a press release obtained by Breitbart Texas.
During his time abroad, the governor will also meet with government leaders in each country to tout the power that American energy has in international relations and diplomacy.
Perry left for the tip just days after a Texas female nurse was diagnosed with Ebola. She caught the disease while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian man who brought Ebola into the United States.

Sounds like a Dem or Karl Rove hit piece.
Yeah really - this article is a joke. There’s no reason yet for Ebola to cancel a pre arranged trip to Europe. She’s smoking crack.

2 patients in hospitals is not a crisis. Any order he might need to make can be made by phone.
What the heck is Perry supposed to do by staying in Texas that he can’t do from overseas? This isn’t the nineteenth century. Perry is a lot more effective in Timbuktu than Obola is in the Oval Office.
In other words he's doing as much as Caliph Baraq and his talking parrot from the CDC.
WTH(eck) would be the point of him staying in Texas. He’d be as useless as, well, you know.

This ebola thing is still an issue not because of what has happened. It is an issue because of what people fear WILL happen.

Ok, I've discovered why this Miss Tate always slams Texas, and Texas success. She is a libertarian. Libertarians are spoilers. They are destructive. They have aided in the election of a whole lot of wild leftwingers. She was active in BOSTON with her libertarian craziness! How the heck did she infiltrate Breitbart? She's a Ron Paul loon! Geez.... What an insult to Texas. Now I don't know if I can trust Breitbart anymore.
Ping.
>> As Ebola grips Texas
Remind me of how many Texans are sick with ebola?
Two cases is a “grip”?
Yeah, it’s a Perry hit piece. Not a particularly convincing one either.
What “Ebola crisis”? Barry and Frieden said we don’t have anything to worry about. Besides, I don’t think Perry is an Ebola “expert” the way “Judge” Jenkins is. Perry would be just in the way. Jenkins has everything under control from what I’m reading.
This is like blaming George W. Bush for hurricane disaster response when it is a Governor's responsibility.
Well he’s not out fundraising or on the fairways hitting golf balls.
Damn librarians. They spend too much time indoors reading books...
It does smell like a hit piece, but it came from Breitbart.
How is Rick Perry going to Europe to promote economic opportunities comparable to Obama on the golf course and at star-studded billionaire fundraisers? It think it says volumes of positive things about Rick Perry as an effective Governor if he has an administration that can handle a crisis.
...that would show he cares.
I guess Eeeeebollllllaaa will now run rampant in Texas because the "leader" is overseas. Oh, no! What are we ever going to do?
It is a trend that I believe is going in the wrong direction.
