I can assure you of death, taxes, and lousy customer service at Amazon.

It's unrealistic to compare death, presumably happening to everyone, to "lousy customer service", just a part of the small part of the world who do business with Amazon. I'll grant you that as, say, "artistic or narrative license".

But you confuse customer service (you had "a billing debacle") with service. The problem I had was with unordered and unwanted merchandise, a problem which seems to be built in to their business model:
By enabling thousands of small merchants (who are not Amazon employees) Amazon has practically sub-contracted the biggest retail function and with it a large part of the risk associated with unwanted merchandise!

But if "lousy customer service" is your story, and you're sticking with it, go for it.

Okay okay let’s not mince words or split hairs or attribute artistic license. The bottom line was that I had a lousy customer service experience at Amazon and I will not place another order.
