It would work with any electronically activated device, but it wouldn't work for cruder, non-electronic devices.
Still, a vast improvement over what occurs now.

There is no device I know of that would activate every conceivable bomb trigger. They’re not all electronic, you know. How would a machine trigger a bomb that was wired to a mechical wristwatch, for example? Or even an old-fashioned incendiary fuse?
Why not?!?!?
Because this is not a Hotlywood movie. In the real world we simply do not know how to check for/detonate explosives without hurting/killing people NOT carrying explosives.
It’s not true because the only way to detonate explosives you’re not sure are present, of unknown type, with unknown trigger mechanism is to put explosives near them and blow THOSE up. And blowing up all your passengers one at a time before they board kind of defeats the purpose of having a plane.
Why not? Because it’s not really possible. You can’t electronically detonate just any theoretical explosive that might be on someone’s person.
IF you knew they had explosives, and you knew what the triggering mechanism was, and you knew that it could be triggered by a specific signal on a specific frequency, then you could do it, but if you knew all that, then you could wouldn’t need this booth in the first place.
