A 9 year old study *hypothesizes* something, having no real empirical evidence to show for it, and you expect me to fly into hysteria?

Why don’t we all just go into Black Death mode, while we’re at it?

They blamed “witchcraft” and killed all the “cat familiars” they could find and the plague rats thanked them for it.

This place embarrasses me.

The MSM skin walkers start chanting some bit of sensationalistic, scientifically unproven “what if?” scenario and you all respond to the tugs on your strings like dutiful little marionettes.

Pitiful.

I used to think I’d be glad to have you “in my foxhole”, if it ever came to it.

Ha.

There’s no room in there for panicky nancies.

Funny how the very same people who claim that Ebola infected *humans* are just fine to sit down and have a beer with but their *dogs*?

OMG, no.

Shoot *them*.

You are being played.

I hope their laughter soon wakes you up.

First, he’d have to spend hours weeding out all the “coulds”, “mights”, and “mays”, trying to find that singular “did”.

A positive titer does not automatically mean infection.

Years ago, Odin tested “positive for Lyme’ and went through 3 months of Dox treatment.

On a whim, I had a PCR/DNA titer run on him and it came back as <8, which means “clinically insignificant”.

Turns out he had been *exposed* to Lyme, had formed antibodies to it but was not actually actively infected or symptomatic, [which is common in dogs] and the treatment was pretty much a waste of time and money.

that’s great.

i’m just saying no-kills often are set up to let others do their killing for them.

it’s easier to be a no-kill because you just don’t take in any once you’re full. not all shelters have that luxury. and believe me, many of these places work with foster groups and rescues, and put on educational events.

and i haven’t ever met anyone at a shelter that enjoys euthanizing animals due to overcrowding. often these are people that have their own pets, amd have their guys from the very shelter they work at.

This is the fourth or fifth time that same CDC paper from 2005 has been linked on FR, and it’s been misunderstood every single time by panicky people to mean the opposite of what it actually says. It says that no dog has ever been documented to have infected a human being with Ebola. Those posting it claim it proves that dogs spread Ebola. Wrong.

I’ve been known to titer my dogs in lieu of mandated vaccinations before, to prove sufficient antibodies. We over-vaccinate them, I strongly suspect this is behind the wild increase in canine cancers.

Spot on, on every point.

How sad that normally rational people, here, are so easily manipulated by the self-same media that they claim to distrust, out of hand, in almost everything else.

If this was being pimped on DU, FReepers would be posting mocking Monty Python pics.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...
