No he’s not sweating bullets. He was on Fox News today. He was assured by the CDC that this approach would be safe. He just wanted the people treated like he would treat his own family, and he wouldn’t want them escorted by people in spacesuits.

Waltzing into that apartment in street clothes unprotected and spending what, 45 minutes there was very ill-advised grandstanding, as was turning up at a press conference wearing the same potentially contaminated clothing.
It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with preventing the spread of a very unsettling virus that kills between 50 and 90 percent of those who contract it worldwide.
If ebola originated in Australia with the same symptoms, prognosis and cause of death it would be no less unsettling. Would Judge Jenkins have waltzed in there for show out of concern over treatment if they weren’t black? No, he wouldn’t.
He’s been hyper-sensitized to any sort of bad feeling about perceived mistreatment of black people. He thought it looked bad, in other words, and risked his life and the life of his family to make a symbolic gesture. His reaction was knee-jerk on the basis of his political leanings and education.
