I stopped using AVG a couple years ago. It didn’t seem to be able to “fix” anything. Have been using the antivirus built into my Windows 7 ultimate edition. Haven’t had a lick of problems with it.
The Microsoft free AV is roughly 70%-85% effective.
Av-comparatives.org shows it as their baseline in malware tests.
You are probably infected already and you think you’re clean.
