I had season tickets all during the Frank White / George Brett era. I went to game 2 and game 7 and saw them win in ‘85. When Frank White was managing the Farm Team in Wichita, I would occasionally see him and visit when he took the guys up to K-State to work out with the K-State team as I was spending a lot of time in Manhattan in that period.
I have probably been to over 500 games over the years and even now in AZ I hit their spring training facility for four games this year.
The only thing that would make me happier is if they made peace with Frank White for screwing him over.
As I’m sure you know Frank White coaches for the T-Bones. I see him at their games all the time.
His break with the Royals was a very bitter experience. They cut his salary by 2/3rds and let him do radio commentary and then cut him from that without a how-do-you-do. It is a big thing that a guy who spent a lifetime with that organization was treated that way.
I am not a David Glass fan.
In my dictionary if you look up Sports Figures with Class, there is a picture of Frank White.
Frank’s the man for sure. Excellent game - crowd around us was great. Waiting on the NL......
