When I was in Junior High School I had a principal who would stop us boys in the hall and ask for your pocket knife? If you didn't have one you were scolded. We also had sessions teaching us how to correctly use an axe. The principal would do demonstrations on splitting wood and lighting a blue-tip match in the same swing.
Of course that was before progressives gone wild took over education for our own good.
