Obama. Time for a graceful exit strategy.

As the Republic slowly twists in the wind of the worst American Administration since George III, it is possible that even Team Obama's key kabuki players recognize that their front man, Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., (or II) has been in failure mode since the heady days of Admin I.

But, what to do with an Admin II fool who now dangerously believes in the omnipotent legend created for him and thus believes himself free to act on his own, and perhaps even more dangerously, to ignore the basic responsibilities of the post, namely to show up?

I am hoping that Obama's Handlers figure this out. Perhaps it is a good time time for them to call Barry in sick, activating Amendment 22.

In the past months, the im-POTUS has looked very unwell, indeed. Have a friendly physician look at his pictures with you. He has become painfully thin to the point that his suits were drastically altered. His color is very strange, too. Another clue: his unfocused eyes, strange tics, and wandering demeanor would never pass a traffic stop drug test. To top it off, he has also shed clouds of ennui, detachment, and foolish and contradictory statements, often within the same paragraphs. Classic fail. Failure to lead. Failure to get out of the way.

In the past week, he was returned from perpetual vacation and shaped up somewhat for photo-ops at Atlanta, where he swears to save us from Ebola by stationing a large military presence in Liberia, and in Tampa, where he swore to "get" ISIS as long as it didn't take "boots on the ground." Standard boilerplate Team Obama Campaign rhetoric. Policy gibberish. Nothing there, except teleprompter-reading campaign hype to energize the base for midterm.

Obama is lost. He is far beyond his intellectual depth. What he needs is a graceful, face-saving way out. How about Health? (No racism there!) There are number of physicians in Congress who are professionally entitled to question the man's health in regard to his ability to perform in office. Can we not petition them to do so? Of course it would be much more fitting if the impetus came from the Democrat side.

If the Democrats keep the Senate, which is what I believe Team Obama may somehow be betting upon, of course they'll not relieve their chief ... although I believe from their POV, it might still be a damn good idea for them.

IMO, things have gotten so bad, that yes, Biden would possibly be better.

Whoops, thought I was replying about a really old Valerie Plame gif. We know the Obama ones are more recent. My bad!

You can’t have a little grace. Either you have it or you don’t.

I posted this scenario a few months ago. It's a constitutional coup d'etat.

Another Alternative to Impeachment.

Here is a perfectly constitutionally legal form of coup d'etat that can be used to oust Obama without going through a nasty impeachment process.

Amendment 25 Section 4

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Imagine the following scenario.

1. Joe Biden organizes the principle Cabinet members to side with him and declares Obama to be unable to discharge his duties as president. He submits this signed declaration to Pat Leahy and John Boehner and assumes the Presidency.

1a. As an interesting variation, "either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide" suggests that Congress can pass a law naming another body besides the Cabinet that can side with the Vice President. What if Congress were to pass a law allowing, say, a body of NYT and WaPo editors, ABC-NBC-CBS-CNN-MSNBC journalists, and college deans - a totally unelected body of people - to legally declare the president incapable of discharging his duties? What if Biden gets these "intellectual elites" to side with him to oust Obama?

2. Obama then fights back by sending a letter to Leahy and Boehner stating that he is not incapable of discharging his duties, and he declares that he has resumed the Presidency.

3. Biden then gets his supporting body to redeclare within four days that Obama is still unfit for office.

4. Once Biden redeclares that Obama is unfit, Congress must then assemble within 48 hours if in session, or within 20 days if in recess, and vote to accept Biden's declaration by 2/3rds vote, or to accept Obama's declaration that he is still fit for office.

5. Congress sides with Biden and declares Obama to no longer be President.

6. Joe Biden takes over as acting President of the United States.

Hey, I can fantasize, can't I?

Thanks for your post and most excellent scenario and tutorial on Amendment 25.

The Mombasa MF was never the real deal, IMNVHO. His handlers may well think him over because he has fulfilled his main mission and they are now on the slope of diminishing returns, i.e., he's more trouble to them than he's worth. He has succeeded in drawing attention unto himself and away from the socialist agenda of Team Obama. This scenario is weakening fast, though. The more we focused on him, the better they did. We may be catching on to that mistake.

It's also possible he has not outlived his usefulness to the marxist/socialist cause as a fund raiser and urban rabble-rouser. Only question is, where do we have 50.1% vs 49.9% for the shocking number of voters who still think the Sun comes forth from his East African fundament?

All democracies have eventually failed because they degenerate into the Tyranny of the Ignorant. Almost there here.

We (whoever the hell that "we" is) need that Senate and the House. If we can get some action out of the GOPe-goaded-by -the-Tea Party and some new leaders, may it please God, we have a shot at saving the Republic.
