Back in October last year Russell Brand made waves by urging people to incite revolution by not voting. He admitted in an interview with Jeremy Paxman that he had never voted, and never intended to, but went on to exhort people not to vote, claiming that democracy needed to be swept away. I agree. The only results I’m really waiting for are Glasgow and Edinburgh. Neither one really has the power to upset the apple cart, unless the Yes votes take a sudden (and unexpected) sharp swing up.

Glasgow votes Yes 53.5-46.5, way below the rate Yes needed, and turnout was 75%, lower than most of the country. This was where Yes needed to bank a big load of votes to win nationally.

195,000 Yes
169,000 No - not a big margin

Commentators on the Beeb are now saying there’s just no way the Yes campaign can get enough votes to overcome the No votes.

The United Kingdom remains United.

Adds 50,000 to the No vote lead - double what Glasgow gave to Yes

It is running around 55-45, but might go down to 56-44, or even 57-43.
