This article is based on false information. The election forecast made by the Election Lab/Monkey Cage’s political scientists forecast was the site used for the original article. When they put out the forecast they had mistakenly counted a Republican gaining a seat as a Democrat. They corrected the error but not before the Washington Post printed the article. They actually show the Republicans winning the senate.
Ok but that doesn’t change the fact that all of the prediction services out there have shown a decreased likelihood of a Republican takeover in the Senate. I’ve noticed it in individual state polling over the last couple weeks. Republicans have been losing steam, Democrats have been gaining. The point of the article wasn’t what the Washington Post said, I could have just as easily cited Nate Silver.
