If you’re raised on dogma and hate, can you choose a different path? Zak Ebrahim was just seven years old when his father helped plan the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. His story is shocking, powerful, and ultimately, inspiring.

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design -- plus science, business, global issues, the arts and much more. Find closed captions and translated subtitles in many languages at http://www.ted.com/translate

Let's go to the videotape.

a very compelling story however there is more:

he does an extremely good job of not rushing himself.

His slow tempo and restrained gestures somehow add to the weight of his speech.

Watch it again. I have seen better TED talks. The one about blood circulation in the human body is incredible.

He is not talking to muslims, for they would not hear him, simply ask Ted Cruz.

He represents maybe one in a million muslims or two or three, pick a number.

Sherman, you might also be interested per our earlier discussion in another thread. You'll see that some of the terminology ("global village," "ecology," etc.) alludes to other efforts antithetical to the work described in the presentation (more conservative work than anything described in politics today). In other words, some of the terminology was cover for the project. There are other projects, too. We might see some real changes.

So people can change. It appears to be a recurring, strong sub-theme in the TED talks I’ve seen so far. Another question might be, though, how many people want to change themselves or their ways of living very extensively?
