I like to doubt he will make a similar mistake again.
Neither Senator Cruz, or his "crew", made a mistake in either going to this event or how Senator Cruz handled the hecklers.
In fact, I would argue that his response and actions were the absolute best way to handle this situation as it showed perfect poise, and strength of character.

This is almost, but not quite, like the incident in the 1980 New Hampshire debate when Reagan said, "This is my microphone, I paid for it and I'm going to speak!" Cruz is positioning himself VERY well as Reagan 2.0, a tough, no-nonsense, unabashed patriot who is not only not afraid to confront ideological enemies, but who relishes the prospect. We haven't seen his like since Reagan, and possibly even back to T.R. (though he clearly wasn't conservative like Reagan or Cruz, but that man had 20-pound gonads and didn't miss an opportunity to use them). Ted Cruz for President in 2016. Progressivism and Islamism delenda est!
