Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine appears to be the first – and so far only – medical school in the country to openly admit illegal immigrants – and has seven such students currently enrolled, a campus official tells The College Fix.
Under Stritch’s admission policy, illegal aliens who fall under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status, also known as DACA and “DREAMers,” are eligible to be admitted to the medical school.
DACA was created in 2012 when President Obama signed an executive order that stated, in effect, that illegal immigrant children who were brought to the United States before their 16th birthday, are currently no older than 31, and have completed a certain level of education or military service, can obtain work permits and Social Security numbers.
Stritch has taken advantage of the policy change and now allows DACA-classified students to apply for medical school. DACA students were first admitted this year as part of the Class of 2018. Seven students were accepted, a campus officials confirmed to The College Fix.
When asked to explain or elaborate on the policy, college officials referred The College Fix to its online documents that detail the program.
On its website, Stritch lays out three reasons for its new admissions policy, saying that admitting DACA students adheres to the university’s “Jesuit & Catholic values,” that it is in “the interests of the medical profession and medical education,” and that “DACA status removes a long-standing barrier to securing a residency slot.”

I’m a physician. This makes me really really angry if it’s true.
My daughter is in medical school. We needed to supply scores of identification papers, birth certificates, etc. throughout the years of her schooling. Plus the fact that she needed extra immunizations. I wonder what he had to present?
The headline is confusing: There is an actual “Chicago Medical School” and it is not the one in the story. The one in the story is part of Loyola University while the actual Chicago Medical School is part of Rosalind Franklin University. CMS is in North Chicago near Great Lakes Naval Training Center while LUMS is in Maywood, a western suburb.
Well who wouldn’t want a doctor who can kill someone and then slip back across the border to be untouchable?
What’s the difference between these medical students and international medical students if they are qualified academically? I do see a problem, however, if they are lowering standards in order to admit these students?

I was at the VA hospital on Monday. The medical tech/male nurse was a former Navy Corpsman who worked with Marine Force Recon. He has his Masters degree and has been trying to get a slot in medical school.

Admission of illegals to med school may be a part of his problem, but that is also a symptom of the wanton disregard of our national integrity and the laws of the land.
The blame for the difficulty of getting into med school and the resultant shortage of American doctors can be laid at the feet of the AMA. As long as the AMA can maintain an artificial shortage of doctors they can continue to command high tuition & fees at med schools and high salaries for doctors. Having had surgeries for triple bypass, stents, appendectomy, three eye surgeries and double carpal tunnel, I definitely appreciate surgeons and others in the medical professions.
I also appreciate the farmers who grow the food that keeps me alive, the pilots who safely land the airliners in which I’ve traveled, the engineers who designed the bridges which DON’T collapse when my friends & family drive over them.
We need to put control of the medical profession and medical training back into the free market system.
Stritch Med School wants $28,000 per head this school year for undergrads.
Certainly the invader criminals will be paying their way, right?
