Which race this November will produce a shocking upset?
one man's opinion...

Posted on 09/08/2014 1:09:01 PM PDT by ken5050

A bunch of just released polls in Senate races show that the GOP is likely to have a very good Election Day. The wave is starting to form...and usually, if it is a wave..there's one or more real surprises..somebody totally unexpected loses..I thought it'd be interesting to see what y'all think might be the upset special(s) on Election Day.

Here are some possibles:

Senate: Durbin, Booker, Merkley, Warner

Quinn's gonna lose big in Illinois..the people have pretty much had it..and Durbin might just be glorious collateral damage..amazing that we're even talking about Warner being on the list..

Governor: Kitzhaber, Dayton, Cuomo..and it would be a big upset if Corbett hangs in in PA.

Dayton is such a putz...I'd love to see him gone. Also..Mass is an open race..but Coakley might just blow another one...which would make her the world's worst candidate ever...and could New Yorkers finally wake up and dump Cuomo....Astorino's such a classy guy..one can hope..

House: Don't know enough about individual races to make a reasonable pick..Hope Freepers will chime in with their local choices. I think CT5 can flip...Dems aren't popular in CT for a whole lot of reasons...the incumbent gov's in a tight race..and it could spill over down the ticket..

So, fellow prognosticators...place your bets..

NOTE TO ALL YOU CYNICS...If Mitch McConnell loses, it's NOT an upset!!!So there!!

It all depends on turnout. If the expectations are that it will be a republican landslide, it will be difficult for the democrats to motivate their people...and to stuff the ballot box.

Depends on how many dimmos vote multiple times and how many dimmo dead resurrect themselves to vote.

It all comes down to fraud - I expect record level of election fraud this year. The question is just how far the far left is willing to push that when they are already seeing an erosion of perceived governmental legitimacy. I can’t predict how far across the line they might go because I do not understand the thugs on the other side.

They asked for surprises, not wishes.

Cochran and Graham are both safe for now.

The voters in SC and MS are not going to give BHO or Harry Reid any presents this Fall.

Durbin.

I don’t live in Illinois anymore, but I sure would like to see that one. Republicans for other state-wide offices are running strong, except for the Secretary of State’s race.

Thought I'd never write this but after what this moron has done to the country, gotta go with the RINOs JUST because they're not Dems. At least the RINOs will stay more in line if only to protect their cushy jobs.

Kentucky gets rid of McConnell and replaces him with a female moonbat.

Jim Oberweis, who is running against Durbin, could be the biggest upset.

I live in Illinois and have donated to him, despite the initial long-shot it looked to be.

Folks, Jim is much more conservative than you’d ever think Illinois could field. If you are looking to screw over a liberal, let it be Durbin and send some dollars to Oberweis.

I spent a couple of weeks in NY/NJ this past summer. The airwaves were drowning in “Astorino is corrupt” ads, complete with sinister photo. Paid for by either the NY Dem Party or some union (as if there’s a difference).

“I’m hoping for Al Franken to be defeated at the polls.”

He was last time, but it didn’t seem to matter.

I’m with you - Franken! And it would even be better if he’s on the losing end of the same situation that led to his “winning” last time!

Back when I was a kid in New Jersey a classmate caught me reading the sports page in the library.

“What are you reading about?,” he asked.

“They just ran the 2000 Guineas (a famous horse race) in England.”

“Oh, yeah? How the hell did they get 2000 Italians to run around in a
circle?”
