Leftist Ideology Deconstructed in 1,000 Words
Facebook ^ | 08/22/2014 | walford

The toxic thinking and horrible consequences of Leftist ideology put into practice and, as explained in the video below this piece, Why the Left Hates America by Daniel J Flynn

The foundational epistemological position of all ‪#‎Leftist‬ thought is Marxist dialectical materialism. Most of them may not have studied ‪#‎Marx‬, but that is the basis of everything they stand for. It is a form of secular monist philosophy, maintaining that a Heglian World Spirit is guiding history along in an upward progression [hence they call themselves “‪#‎progressives‬.”]

Under that paradigm, an existing order continues until its “internal contradictions” come to a critical mass and collapses. Then, inevitably according to them, new flowers grow from the ashes and a new, improved paradigm emerges. Eventually this new Order also deteriorates and falls, continuing a process of ever-greater improvement.

Those who would arrest or even slow down this inevitable progression are called ‪#‎conservatives‬. Those who would dismantle it are called ‪#‎reactionaries‬; they are standing in the way of history. That is why they are fond of saying that those who would repeal any of their policies are trying to “turn back the clock.”

There are only a very few who are Gifted with the ability to read the tea leaves of history to know exactly what the characteristics of this progression is. This process is neither amenable to logic, reason nor evidence -- which they consider lower forms of thought and even superstition.

They are also subjectivists who maintain that “our own mental activity is the only unquestionable fact of our experience.” So they hold that those who do not agree with [viz. believe in] their interpretation of the direction of history are a threat to the continuing progression, because the very existence of contrary thoughts cause their ideas to not work when put into practice.

[Compare this to the religious version of subjectivist theological exclusivism in which non-adherents of their particular sect actually hurt God and thus must be converted or wiped out. That, in turn, makes their religion effectively a violent, expansionist political ideology -- e.g. ‪#‎Islamism‬.]

Marx originally believed that civilization would on its own evolve toward the ideal of From Each According to Ability, to Each According to Need. But when his predictions proved false, Lenin decided that a Vanguard Party was needed to take down the existing order by force and use the coercive power of government to attack what was in the population’s minds and replace it with a willingness to accept the new paradigm. Those who could not be converted had to be eliminated.

Advocates of using violence to push dialectical progression along are called ‪#‎Revolutionaries‬.

[Hence Pol Pot slaughtered 25% of his country’s population during the Killing Fields of ‘75-’79 -- including anyone who wore glasses because he wanted to start with clean slate sans anyone who may have been exposed to any other ideas. Then his Marxist Utopia would have a better chance of working.]

When you combine a political philosophy that is not amenable to reason and is threatened by opposing thought, you have a secular form of dogmatic faith. And thus we can see how hysterical Leftists become when confronted with opposing views. Trying to use logic, reason or evidence to prove that what they advocate is harmful only infuriates them further.

As Dan Flynn pointed out in the video linked, the Left hates America because its very existence, freedom and prosperity disproves their most cherished of ideals. What makes the ‪#‎Left‬ even more harmful is their faith that destroying the existing Order will inevitably lead to a better world. They don’t give much thought as to what happens after civilization collapses because they are sure that it will be an improved paradigm.

Regarding others who hate us [for whatever reason] some of them are disposed to believe that we brought it on ourselves, so if we heal the sins that we committed against them, they will stop killing us.

The most hard-core amongst them view groups such as the ‪#‎Islamists‬ as temporary allies, because they are seen as agents of Change -- which is always for the good. Hence ‪#‎Obama‬’s original slogan. This is why many Leftists also embrace rioters. Anyone who would bring things down is their friend. That is why they have automatic sympathy for anyone who expresses hatred for the United States and automatic revulsion for expressions of patriotism.

They have faith that once the Constitutional Republic is destroyed, they will be able to win over those who helped them under force of arms. [In reality, they would be the first ones to go when the thugs amongst them take over.]

History has demonstrated quite the opposite. When a civilization collapses, there is a long period of darkness, characterized at first by utter chaos, then a period in which roving gangs are fighting each other over rags, bones and rubble. Eventually the faction with the most weapons and the most willingness to use them takes power and re-establishes order with an iron fist.

Only the founding of the United States broke that cycle by instituting a system in which leadership and policies are determined by popular will. It is no accident that the American Revolution coincided with the Industrial ‪#‎Revolution‬. For the first time in history, people were able to gain economic success and political influence by means other than birth. The result was the creative forces of the entire population were released in which personal gain can be accomplished with mutual benefit.

To the Left, if popular will cannot be manipulated, it must be thwarted.

The Left today are the would-be medievalists of tomorrow. Their ‪#‎Utopia‬ would establish an aristocracy of the wealthy who have political connections in which neither political influence nor economic success can be attained w/o the other. All economic decisions are political decisions. All political decisions are economic decisions. The result is an arrogant and often cruel elite lording over a mass deliberately kept ignorant, impoverished and disenfranchised.

Leftists, when confronted with complaints of ever-growing government are fond of responding that, “we are the government.” The way it was previously put was “the State is the people and the people are the State,” so the more power the government has, the more empowered the people are. They firmly believe that private property should only be tolerated so long as it serves the State.

The name for that ‪#‎collectivist‬ ideology is ‪#‎fascism‬. By all means review the history of that ideology -- particularly ideological support for Mussolini. He was a committed Leftist as was Adolph Hitler's National Socialist Workers Party.

Some Leftist academics will say that fascism is an extreme form of ‪#‎capitalism‬, but neither of them were citing Adam Smith or John Locke.

"We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are determined to destroy this system under all conditions." - Adolph Hitler

I would add, as part of this sickness, the following:

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias manifesting in unskilled individuals suffering from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than is accurate. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their ineptitude.

David Dunning and Justin Kruger of Cornell University conclude, "the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others".

Interesting; it’s similar to sociopathy in which someone thinks a different set of rules apply to them than to everyone else — and that they feel entitled to do unto others what they would not tolerate having done to them.

Their internal myopia makes it impossible for them to consider a world outside of themselves — and thinking outside of their own twisted minds.

This explains why Leftist feminists will use the harshest of sexist epithets to describe female conservatives and black Leftists will use the harshest of racial epithets toward black conservatives.

“It’s been a looonngg time since I studied Plato, but as I recall he believed in realities so objective we couldn’t even comprehend them directly.”

Actually Post Modernism is a form of Sophistry that both Plato and Aristotle were trying to combat.

When “the narrative” becomes the only reality then you have lost any form of objective truth either through revelation (Plato) or by observation (Aristotle)

The left is about words, feelings and intentions that are not associated with action or results. I say the words “I am for helping the poor”. My words make me feel better about myself. The words are true because my intentions are good so I cannot be judged by the results of the actions set in motion by my words.

The fact that my words lead to acts which make the poor worse off in almost every demonstrable way is irrelevant because I had good intentions.

The left is simply the form Sophistry takes in the current age. It is based upon argument, statement and ideology that are not tied to actuality. That is why the Left MUST control the vocabulary and are consistently against Free Speech.

The horror is that when good intention become the guidepost to action not some form of ethical absolute then Leftist quickly devolve into rather thorough going Sadist because Sadism can be boiled down the statement “I is right to do because I can do it.”

At least that is my opinion

Liberals deny human nature and project a fake utopia that can only be implemented by force, not economics or belief in the human being.

Their fantasies of equality only work when there is a police state that moves God to the State and all power to all-knowing party members/politicians and bureaucrats.

In the end, the human desire to work hard for their families erodes as the state take what it wants and redistributes it to preferred people.

It is absolute and utter tyranny, and the way to seal off freedom for the enslaved. Barbed wire, monitored internet, radio, TV and bread lines will eventually result.

Everyone here in FR will have to decide whether to live on crumbs and survive, barely, or fight for freedom. It’s coming, like the sound of a tidal wave in the distance, getting louder by the second.

This is a good post. Explains things easily. I hope it is viewed, read and digested by many. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 NKJV). So, yes, leftism is older than all other “isms”. The left is just following “their” hero, their master, Satan. Christ, by contrast, offers life - and life more abundantly. Choose wisely for I believe the end of all things is near.

“I say the words “I am for helping the poor”. My words make me feel better about myself. The words are true because my intentions are good so I cannot be judged by the results of the actions set in motion by my words.”

That is an excellent point and illustrates how when their ideas inevitably fail when put into practice, they call for more of the poison that got us there in the first place. They believe that taking from the rich and giving to the poor should work even though, as Margaret Thatcher pointed out, all it does is make the poor poorer in the process of making the rich less rich.

And, as I explained in the OP, they maintain that the reason that their policies didn’t work is because “reactionaries” were undermining them with negative rhetoric [and hence, negative thoughts]. This is why Leftist politicians continue campaigning even after in office; they are trying to win people over into believing in their vision of Utopia so it will work.

Bottom line, there is no reasoning with a Leftist, so don’t blame yourself if you don’t get through to them. Their entire mode of thinking is askew from reality.

Calvinists saw the Enlightenment and the subsequent limited representative governments and the consequent Industrial Revolution as bordering on heretical; people who otherwise would be poor would be able to rise up through their own effort and ingenuity. In their eyes, this was thwarting Divine Will.

As a Calvinist, I have some familiarity with Calvinist thought, including not only soteriological but social and political dimensions as well. What you are describing here is unrecognizable to me. What I know of the subject suggests rather the opposite, that Calvinist ideas played a significant role in using constitutional and representative government as a tool to neutralize to some degree the corrupting effects of original sin, essentially by putting cages around anyone who would seek power over others. Can you cite to sources on your remarkable assertions?

I was basing my view on Calvinism on research I had done concerning Timothy Dwight. I am trying to find online sources and in the process am finding that his views were not shared by all Calvinists, nor were they dominant.

I appreciate your input and will do further research to find the source — it may be the source of the Machiavellian Divine Right of Kings, rather than Calvinism.

Skimming through that source, it seems that Calvinism has evolved since the 16th century. It certainly did support obeying the existing aristocratic order as Divine Will, but certainly was different than what was practiced by 19th century Calvinists such as the aforementioned industrialists.

There is some debate as to the relationship of Calvinism and democracy that developed during the Enlightenment and subsequent American Revolution.

I’ve developed a solution, but it will require a certain moral strength to implement, and the ability to accept that only succeeding generations will realize the benefits...

By all means post it.

One thing I realized while my position developed from being atheist to being certain that there is a Divine Presence is that religion has been and still is essential to our survival. No atheistic tribe has survived; all archaeological discoveries of early man include some kind of religion.

The religions that enhanced survival taught that there is Order and Justice in the universe, that there is an Ultimate Authority that makes rules that we must discover and obey rather than make up — and that we are invested in each other in the here and now and in the world we leave behind.

Wanting of those fundamental principles, we leave no legacy at all, much less one that is worth preserving. The Secular Humanism that continues to spread through Western civilization brings with it the Culture of Death indeed.

All the more interesting, really, that the lefties are the ones who have benefited the most from the American Dream, and want to take it away from everyone but themselves, of course. In THEIR minds, they use wealth for good and we are too stingy!

I have rewritten the earlier post and changed the references to Calvinism to a more accurate assessment of the Leftist elite being descendent from the Divine Right of Kings:

It is not just a matter of spreading wealth and alleviating poverty; Leftists who are informed and honest with themselves know that their policies tank the economy and hurt the poor and ever-shrinking middle class the most.

We have two and only two choices in establishing societal norms with respect to freedom and private property. Either the “disparities” that are inevitable under economic freedom or a shared poverty that is inevitable under collectivism.

The Left thinks that the latter is more just and noble. Their vision of Utopia is a cruel, arrogant elite lording over a mass deliberately kept poor, ignorant and disenfranchised.

Obama and his minions have been bringing this to the American people with great success. Don’t ever think these people are stupid; they know exactly what they are doing: evil.

"By all means post it."

It is presently illegal to speak the Truth.
The Enemy can and has banned the utterance of "God bless you." as a casual response to a sneeze. Pointing a finger at someone can be perceived as a felony assault. Any criticism of the corrupt gang in DC is "racist". Our country has been invaded, and the Left sees it as an election advantage.

We are approaching a time when the Culture of Death will hold sway over all...

To make a point by making a point I will make a point: There is a difference between Classical Liberalism and American Liberalism. I would suggest that American Exceptionalism which is founded upon God-given Unalienable Individual Rights necessarily requires one to adopt an American frame of reference for the Political Spectrum. The European Political Spectrum in my opinion is flawed in that it makes distinctions without difference when one considers the American experiment. The Left use this confusion to lie about what the American Right is about by using terms like Fascist to describe Conservatives when it is the Left that are more like Fascists.

Today’s Political Spectrum VS The Founder’s Political Spectrum

Here are some references to what I feebly attempted to express:

Today’s Political Spectrum VS The Founders’ Political Spectrum

-excerpt

Today’s political philosophy writers have taken it upon themselves to create this “spectrum” that encompasses all the parties within the United States. No one is left out, and everyone has a particular place among the spectrum that they fall.

If asked where you fall, could you say without hesitation?

I know for a fact, I would be completely hesitant to say I fall here or I fall there. The reason being is because today’s political spectrum relies too much on the “party” and not enough on the “power” which government is given.

The founders political spectrum

-excerpt

The Founders’ Political Spectrum was neither left nor right. There was no Communism on one side and no Fascism on the other; there were neither Democrats nor Republicans. The Founders thought in terms of the words, Tyranny and Anarchy. On the far left was tyrannical rule by a monarch or dictator, while on the right was ‘no rule’ and ‘no law’ or total anarchy. The Colonies had been to the far left under the British Crown. The Articles of Confederation were sitting just inside the right border, to the left of anarchy. The Articles required agreement of nine states before federal action could take place so that Federal actions were generally minimal and agreement very time consuming.
