California Schemin' & The Anarchy of Amnesty
Self | 8/28/14 | Me

The Governor of California says all “illegals” are welcome. Congratulations, Jerry Brown, for they were already welcome...long before they were ever illegal! So please, Mr. Governor, if you may, why do we even have immigration laws, a naturalization process, or internationally recognized borders? For the same reason your mansion has doors, locks and a discernible property line? That’s right, don’t politicize a simple issue solely to demonize Republicans and conservatives because you’re racist victimization agenda obscures the truth. Barack Obama, our own hijacked government, is personally arranging for illegals to enter America – without any health or criminal background checks – because he wants and needs a humanitarian emergency, a racially infused public spectacle, to justify granting executive amnesty while conveniently stuffing the ballot box. In other words, according to his infantile reasoning, once they’re already here, what are "We the People" going to do about it? Honestly, is anything more juvenile, illicit or irresponsible? This is not a game, Mr. President, it’s our national security, our very sovereignty, and over a million Americans have died to procure and protect our freedom. Then again, what would you know about such honor and sacrifice?

If immigrants want to come to America they need only fill out the required paperwork and complete the process afforded by law. Nothing more! It’s not a racist conspiracy; it’s not rocket science. Everyone has to follow laws, including natural born citizens. We can’t attend the Democratic National Convention without ID or board a plane without passing a vigorous security protocol, so why should it be any different for non-citizens? And yet, as if empowered by their reckless disregard for the law and our well being, our “progressive” government – which is 17 trillion in debt – offers illegal aliens unconditional free welfare and healthcare as a reward for their lawlessness. In the meantime, hardworking Americans are losing their preferred health insurance – another convenient lie of Obamacare – while countless veterans die waiting for adequate health care. Please tell me how this is not a travesty, a crime, or an impeachable offense? What self-respecting parent would vote for, let alone support a President who cared so little for your child’s safety or your family’s financial well being? Every civilized nation has immigration laws and their elected officials don’t needlessly play games designed to politicize the absolute necessity of border security solely to win an election. I’m sure the likes of ISIS or the notorious Mexican gang M13 would gladly partake in our common sense relocation program. I hear you’ll find 9/11 there, along with the remnants of the Constitution.

Most of them would not even qualify for a tourist visa. We do take in 1.1 million legal permanent immigrants a year, more than the rest of the world combined, but it is not that easy to immigrate legally to the US. In fact, we should be reducing the numbers substantially.

Left out of the announcement was...

“Illegals, you are welcome. California taxpayer get back to work. You have to pay for these illegals. “

We don’t have a frontier that needs populating, nor do we have rapidly expanding industries in need of cheap unskilled and semi-skilled labor.
What we do have is a welfare state and huge level of un- and under employment.
We actually don’t need ANY immigration.

I would certainly support some sort of moratorium recognizing that we would still have to admit spouses and children of American citizens.

Well, “spouses and children of American citizens” should be recognized as Americans. I should have thought of that.

Also, I am not against all immigration, I just think we need to cherry pick more. Immigration should be based on what is good for the US, with little or no concert on what is good for the immigrants.

We will always have some immigration even if there is a moratorium. Americans who marry foreign nationals and wish to sponsor them for green cards and eventual citizenship will not be included in any moratorium.

Agree, we should have a merit based system rather than the current kinship system. Our immigration policy should serve our national interests. Immigration to the US is a privilege, not a right.
