on that, we agree 100% - but that too has nothing to do with Huckabee/Romney in 2007-8. In fact, it was McCain V Romney - no one else was ever relevant. Thompson bombed early, Rudy had a bizarre strategy, and Huck only had his little narrow niche. When everyone else dropped out, all you had was McCain cruising, with Huck and Ron Paul taking their little niche votes, but neither was a serious contender while it was an open question.

Same Santorum ‘12. It’s like guys who come off the bench and score a lot of points after the game is decided. Misleading on paper…..

The problem is that no one “debates” any more.

Watching politicians is like watching a sitcom these days. There is no plot and the entire script is written around lame one line jokes, with horrible connective words to create the illusion of a story.

I think it’s amazing that just a few weeks ago ISIS was an Egyptian goddess—now they are the biggest threat to the American Homeland since the French and Indian war.

I immediately knew which "debate" you were referring to. Just like the movie, Kelly's Heroes, you cannot watch this too many times ....

Newt Gingrich Hands Juan Williams His Arse

Kelly’s Heroes…HAH…..one of the all time greats. Don’t forget Josey Wales, a mediocre movie with about 50 great scenes though……

And Newt V Juan
Newt V Megyn
Newt V Gregory…..

(too bad we’ll never see Newt V Obama)

* sigh *

I will never understand how this electorate could have been so stupid as to nominate Romney over Newt. The GOP POTUS primary process has to be fixed so we quit allowing the seven dwarfs to run and end up with Dopey, who wins with only 30%.

….and there are still Freepers who think Santorum was actually the biggest challenger - forgetting that after Florida, it was over.

There is an actual possibility that Carson will debate Sharpton. If Sharpton is dumb enough to do it, I would pay muchos dinero to watch that one. Newt can be great at times, but frankly, he’s dead as a candidate.

Unfortunately, newt is a bit bipolar. I now believe he would have been slaughtered if he was the nominee, perhaps would have been the worst political loss ever in a presidential campaign. My 2 cents. Santorum may have been as bad.

Bipolar yes, as CEW highlights, unfortunately Good Newt and Bad Newt exist in the same person.

And he may have lost as Romney did, but it would have been a hell of an entertaining show along the way!

And not only fun, but ILLUSTRATIVE and TEACHABLE. And I'll say this: Newt's supporters were all aware of his shortcomings, his problems in the past, etc. No other candidate's supporters were as attuned to the reality of their candidate.

There were NO NEWT sycophants. We all knew our guy was not perfect. We also knew that Newt mattered, and had mattered for many years - which is why everyone knows about his career.

Virtually none of us supported him at first, until he proved in debate after debate after debate that he was head and shoulders above the rest in being able to take down liberalism. He proved in the early and mid 90s he could defeat liberals and get a liberal President to govern conservatively. Those two things combined made him the man for the moment…..like Churchill, he had a long and spotted career. But when it was Churchill's time, it was his time. I think we missed that opportunity.

Too busy to post earlier...but that’s probably a good thing.

I’m wasting waaaay too much time addressing history.

I’m all about taking back the Senate and Colorado State in 2014.

Then, trying to focus on getting Ted Cruz into the White House in 2016.

My pet peeves about Huckabee:

1) A few years ago Rifqa Bary was the young Sri Lankan American girl who accepted Christ and was running for her life from her Muslim father when he found out. (Pastor) Huckabee, instead of supporting this courageous new Christian who was in serious danger, said something to the effect of, on national TV, that “these runaway girls always lie”. Oh, isn’t Faux News 17% Muslim owned.

2) Governor Huckabee granted Amnesty at 4 times the rate of
of surrounding states. He was especially a sucker for new converts to Christianity. One such sob story that Huckabee let out of prison, shot and killed 4 police officers shortly there after.

Huckabee is either bought and paid for, or has no discernment whatsoever.
