I have a sore thumb because of these stupid things. It takes about 20 minutes to pour 5 gallons, and all the while you need to hold it just right with thumb pressing.

You guys are struggling too much. Buy the two handled plastic can, throw away the idiot spout and buy the cheap replacement flex nozzle at Walmart. It has a screw on cap, flex tube and two collars of different sizes for the blitz plastic cans. Even comes with the vent tube that requires a 3/8 “ hole to be drilled in the can. Press in the fitting and “blah” your done.

Not sure what type of can you have, but I bought a "new style" one last year and after a lot of trial and error figured out that the button on it was used to just unlock the spout, which then had to be placed just right into the fuel tank opening then pushed.

There's a little "clip" on the front tip of the spout (actually looks like the forward sight on a rifle) that catches the lip of the opening and when the can is pushed forces the spout depress back into the can about a half an inch. Thus opening the valve fully and emptying the can just as fast as the old models.

This was NOT described in any way, shape or form with the little instruction booklet zip tied to the handle.
