Michael Brown was pictured several times flashing gang signs. The family released this photo to KSDK for a report.

Alright, I am going to try to be clear here. Every kid I knew used to "throw" gang signs. White kids, jewish kids, blacks, hispanics.. its just the way of the hood. You throw it up to look cool. So the "throwing" of "gang signs" means very little.

What means a lot more than that is the apparent robbery and other issues the young man had. THAT may well make him a criminal and a thug. But the breathlessness I see here about the throwing of the signs comes across rather.. naive, or quaint.

There you go again, trying to apply common sense to the law. :) To you and me Master Brown is deserving of whatever caliber he might run into. The question will be how the court decides.

As an aside, it seems like odd behavior for the average urbanite. Most won't engage in a fight with a cop. Might be interesting to see the toxicology report on this person when it comes in.

Why is it that you only look at 1/2 of the situation? This “THUG” attacked the police man. Now, if I was being attacked by a 230 APE, and I was armed. you bet you booties I’d shoot him dead. If I had a knife, I’d cut his heart out and if I had a club, I’d beat him to death. That police officer was fighting for his life.
