My doctor put me on this about a year ago. I quit taking them after reading about the side effects. I also couldn’t stay awake, I was tired all the time. With my family history (Dad dead at 56, brother at 51 from heart attacks) I guess the doctor was trying to be proactive.

With my family history (Dad dead at 56, brother at 51 from heart attacks) I guess the doctor was trying to be proactive.

My doctor was a Cardiologist, teaching at the University of Miami. He put me on statins 30 years ago, saying—at that time—Scandinavian studies were showing 20 years of excellent results. Back then, I had my blood tested every month for three months to check on liver reactions. Cleared (then) of any negative details, I've been on statins for 30 years. (Although I wasn't in the "particularly-high" range for cholesterol). I had a bout with high blood pressure, but I'm taking a very low dosage of lisoprinol, and seem to be doing well. My present doctor says to exercise more—something in common with every doctor I've ever seen!

What I might not survive is Obama!
