First and foremost whoever it is must be honorable and not self serving but a true America First practitioner. Somewhere out there in the mass of 300 plus million there must be someone that fulfills that qualification.

There are probably several people who would do a great job, the problem is most of them probably don’t want to put themselves through the crushing process to get there...

The problem, Mr. Corleone, is that the person you describe is condescendingly referred to as a ‘purist’. And everyone from Ann Coulter to Karl Rove will work to squash any hope of said purist to make a serious run. What's more, no one, whether rank-and-file Republicans or so-called conservative politicians, has an appetite to form a viable third party. So we are stuck.

A strong and powerful United States as leader of the free world is no longer in vogue you see. Being the land of the free and home of the brave doesn't hold any appeal to those with power and/or influence.
