Sounds like a strain or sprain rather than a fracture.

Carefully look *between the toes* as well as on the pads for slivers, cuts, puncture wounds, etc. They can get well up in there and not be seen.

Is there any swelling? If no swelling and he continues to use the foot more, it's probably just a mild strain. I would limit his activity while this works itself out.

Another good idea would be to give him a nice Epsom salt and warm water soak. That will relieve pain and swelling, and if there is a sliver or splinter it will draw it out.

But if he is still limping tomorrow, I would bundle him up and head for the vet (I will never complain again about our vet being 45 minutes away!)

No swelling at all. Nothing, we really checked his pad and between the toes and all of his leg many times. He is on the front porch as he usually is.

Heck i looked out the window a bit ago and he was next to the wood pile going after his nemesis....the chipmonk. In order to get to the wood pile he has to walk up and down 4 steps, yesterday it was a huge issue for him.

I will bring him inside after a bit, don’t want him to over due it.

Thank you
