Very well put.

What Israel can do, in my opinion, is to destroy the tunnels and the missiles, and continue to scrutinize supplies coming into Gaza. It needs to watch very closely the use of materials like concrete that have a dual purpose.

Israel is unified now, more than the US was after 9/11. After it eliminated Hamas, many of the Lefties like Yair Lapid and Tzipi Livni will attempt to prop up Abbas once again. In order to do that they will have to overcome the recognition in Israel that a single missile can result in the politicized FAA closing the airport, and the fact that the tunnels were commenced in 2002, three years before Hamas’s violent coup in 2005.

If Israel can outlive our Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood-loving government then it will be fine.

On the other hand, if it appears weakened after this fight then Hezbollah from Lebanon may conclude that it is an auspicious time to attack from the. North, with far more missiles, and far more dangerous ones, than Hamas is using in the South.

Fortunately, Israel seems to continue to have good relations with the Pentagon despite Chuck Hagel being Secretary of Defense. If it can continue to stock up the Iron Dome artillary and keep its offensive weaponry in good supply, then it should do fine according to the laws of nature.

Beyond the laws of nature, it has a secret weapon from above. Really, when you think of the fact that the tunnel operation was in planning for 12 years, and that the strategy of a mass terror attack on half a dozen towns simultaneously was revealed only after Hamas sysrted firing missiles on Israel as it searched for the killers of the three boys abducted at a hitch-hiking post, it is easy to understand the nature of Divine protection.

It's just my sense, but I think Israel is really tired of playing defense.

Why did Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority recently make ‘a peace agreement with Hamas’, knowing Hamas is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood?

Also....The PA could have easily sent security forces into Gaza to stop Hamas rockets from being fired, which would have prevented Israel from having to fight Hamas...but they didn’t..so also begs the question why they didn’t?

additionally....It’s 9yrs. since Israel gave the Palestianian Authority control over Gaza......why does the PA allow it to remain a place shielding terrorists... and this with the Gaza ‘citizens’ full knowledge and co-operation?

These are questions that so often are not brought into discussion when in fact the PA has direct influence and control over Gaza...and Hamas.
