Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's attorney, Eugene Fidell, has apparently been retained to launch a hyper-partisan political campaign against Fox News. The Army has not charged Bergdahl with anything. According to some news reports, the Army hasn't even begun investigating Bergdahl. Nonetheless, one of Fidell's first media appearances was with the Huffington Post where he vilified Fox News for vilifying his client:
Its very unfortunate that Fox News has an opportunity to use this case in an effort to stir up the base, use this in an effort to vilify my client, who everybody knows has gone through a terrible five-year long captivity among the bloodthirsty and ruthless Taliban, and use this case as a lever to bludgeon President Obama, Fidell said.
Although Bergdahls release from the Taliban was at first celebrated, the wave of public opinion quickly changed when news of Bergdahls past as a "deserter" surfaced.
What makes Fidell's representation so bizarre is that he appears to be using his client as a way to grab hold of media attention in order to grind his own personal left-wing political ax. Nothing else really explains this behavior.
Fox News certainly wasn't the only news outlet reporting on the Army's suspicion that Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban after deserting his post in Afghanistan. Even, uhm, The Huffington Post did....

hell it’s not like he lefy a goodbye note when he deserted....
oh wait...
The guys who held Bergy are more of a Islamic mafia organization....than true-Taliban. What their world revolves around...is cash and profits. They didn’t care for the five guys released...which means a third and fourth party are involved in this deal, which is why the White House avoids having this episode get into the news media.
Once you figure out the middle man had to find some folks with cash to pay Bergy’s holders....only then could this deal go forward. I don’t think it’s a big sum either....more likely to be closer to $3 or $4 million, than the twenty-five million that some folks suggest.
Oh, and Bergy’s forthcoming book (I anticipate in the summer of 2015 after he gets out of the military)....will sell less than 5,000 copies (wipe-out except for libraries across the nation buying a copy each).
Supposedly pro bono according to the comments after the article.
Fraud fraud fraud, from top to bottom.
Too bad we no longer have an honest press.
Trying to explain any of this to a low info voter is exhausting!
Is this the next thread you were talking about, in that last thread about that POS who was bad mouthing the Tx National Guard? Sounds like another POS is heard from.
I thought the people holding Sergeant Bergdahl weren’t actually the Taliban?
****************************
That’s what I remember, too. I think it was the Haqqanis that BB was with, not the Taliban, and their base is in Pakistan.
He’ll just say he’s gay and he’ll be untouchable!
He forgot to also indict the Koch brothers.
libs will resurrect this a-holes rep and have him run for some office.
betch ya.
At the beginning, I thought he was just a nut case, but now I feel he's a cold, calculating, anti-American idealogue, nevermore to be any kind of patriotic lover of this country..... just a taker and manipulator.
Bergdahl is still fighting against our society as reflected in the words of his sleazy mouthpiece who is attacking Fox and freedom of speech.
There is much to be said for the old practice of "shunning". Here is someone who should be shunned forever...like Philip Nolan, the famous fictional "man without a country". He is back here in this country, but he certainly has shown nothing to evince he is happy to be a part of it (or his family) again.
I hope I'm wrong, but this guy creeps me out big time.
I bet those soldiers in his former unit who know what he did and testified to it on TV are completely appalled and demoralized.
Obama has Bergdahl under his protection.....and justice, one way or the other, may never be served.

Sounds like a future democrat Secretary of state.
