I wondered what the progressive courts would do to American parents who would allow their minor children to trek unaccompanied across Mexico

That's exactly it. Reverse it. Take any pro-illegal sob story article, do a search-and-replace so it's about Americans breaking into Canada--American parents sending their children to trek alone to the Canadian border. It would soon become evident how greedy, selfish, and lawless the illegals' behavior really is. Why is it okay for them but not us? Because they're supposedly poor? So can poor Americans in, say, Appalachia send their kids to trek alone to the Canadian border and be called "brave"? Is illegal behavior okay if someone is Hispanic? Why are white people held to a higher standard?
