Assuming the Republicans retain the House majority, it's (regrettably) unlikely that Boehner will be replaced, unless there is some medical issue or unless he voluntarily resigns from the Speaker position under other circumstances.
Boehner is one of those limp wristed, prisses, who think it’s “just so cute” to shake another man’s hand, wet, right after he washes and purses his lips, while throwing the gay eye wink, barely turning his head left and right so you know he likes to play baseball and loves being a mitt....
I know.... more’s the shame
Unless he chokes to death on one of his cigarettes, there is roughly a zero % chance that anyone other than Boehner will be Speaker next year. Rat chances for majority are nihilistic. The most realistic scenario for a Boehner resignation would be a 1998 scenario, where the GOP surprisingly lost seats, that is not something any rational person hopes for.
This fixation with removing the GOP leadership is not productive, the next leaders will compromise and lose popularity here as well, McConnell was very well liked here at one time. The leadership reflects the conference, the best thing to make the leadership compromise less is to elect as many Republicans as possible. The smaller the majority, the worse it is.
