OH: 71-Year-Old CCW Holder Stops Domestic Murder

Jerold Evans, 19, was upset with his ex-girlfriend.  He apparently decided that the way to end his negative emotion was to use a .45 on her.   He did not count on a member of the gun culture being on hand and intervening.   Bobby Howard, 71, had a concealed carry permit, a handgun, and the will to use it.   As Evans menaced his Ex with the loaded .45, Mr. Howard assessed the situation, drew his weapon, and stopped the threat.   From the Toledo Blade:

Owner of Howard‘s‍, Bobby Howard, 71, shot Jerold Evans, 19, inside the store at about 11:15 p.m., police said. According to an incident report and court affidavits, Mr. Evans allegedly went into the store, 1001 Nebraska Ave., with a loaded .45-caliber handgun, with one round in the chamber, and threatened to shoot his ex-girlfriend who was inside the store. Mr. Howard reportedly told police that he shot Mr. Evans once.

The police report that 71 year old Bobby Howard will not be charged.  The ex-boyfriend, Jerold Evans, was taken to the hospital with a gunshot to the back.  He will be charged with the illegal carry of a concealed weapon and with aggravated menacing.    No one else was injured in the incident.   Remember, according to Moms Demand Action media figure Shannon Watts, good guys with guns never stop bad guys with guns.   Except when they do.

Perhaps the RSRC, R. Priebus, Haley Barbour, and Carl Rove should be doing out-reach in a Ronald Reagan fashion, i.e come with us and out vision on our common ground we share with the Bobby Howard’s that are in all 50 States, and not what they did in Mississippi...

Mom’s Demand Action would say:

1) He only needed one shot, not 30-rounds, but;
2) He put everyone in the store in danger, and;
3) The bullet could have struck an innocent person, and;
4) He escalated the situation, and;
5) We don’t need gun fights...this could have turned out badly.

How did I do? The five idiotic points above are not mine.
