Rep. Henry Cuellar hoped the immigration mess would not become Obama's Katrina moment.
It has.
The difference between Bush and Obama is that Bush cared. He might have taken too long to make decisions, but he did care. Obama doesn't care about anything other than himself.
As we've noted here, Barack Obama has effectively imposed Martial Law on detention sites which house illegal aliens who are flooding across the border. A member of United States Congress was denied access to Fort Sill and was told he has to make an appointment. Then the administration announced put the hammer down. Among the rules:
- No recording devices will be allowed - No questions will be allowed during the tour - No interacting with staff and children at the shelter - We ask that your questions be provided via email or phone after the tour to Kenneth Wolfe - HHS ACF public affairs will provide answers to your follow up questions as quickly as possible - We will provide photos of the facility after the tour There will be no on-site interviews by HHS staff before or after the tour, all inquiries go to Kenneth WolfeThese are draconian restrictions and they are there for a reason- a political reason. The illegal invasion crisis is Obama's Katrina. These rules are meant to limit the political damage to Obama and the truth has been locked into a closet.
Let's imagine another scenario. Let's imagine George W. Bush was more concerned about his political fortune than he was about the people of New Orleans. Let's imagine Bush decides to lock reporters out of New Orleans. Let's imagine Bush effectively imposes Martial Law on New Orleans. Let's imagine that Bush allows reporters into New Orleans but only if the media promises not to record anything, not to ask any questions during the tour, and not to talk to any of the staff members or people living there. Imagine Bush denying democrat members of Congress access to New Orleans.
Just imagine.
Imagine the outpouring of indignation from the NY Times and the Washington Post. Imagine the words that would have flown from MSNBC.
Just imagine.
Unfortunately, there is no such outcry from a press overwhelmingly obsequious to the current resident of the White House.

My thoughts too. Not even close. 0's mess is caused by 0's arrogance, stupidity, and radical ideology.
Democrats calling it potentially “Obama’s Katrina” are actually downplaying it because nothing happened to Bush over Katrina because nothing could have happened to him over Katrina.
The Democrats want it categorized the same as Katrina.
If we are lucky, maybe Obama will end up like Ray Nagan who was just sentenced to 10 years for corruption!
I don’t like this comparison to Katrina either. Louisiana and those incompetent fools, Blanco and Nagin, were primarily responsible for the planning and response. Bush was ready, willing and able to help. Only when it became clear that Blanco and Nagin were to incompetent to do anything did the Feds jump in and then they got the blame for the slow response. Bush made a huge mistake by turning on the spending spigot full blast without any controls over how money was spent. But when the Libs criticize him for Katrina, that isn’t what they are talking about.
I think Obama and liberals are betting on the media providing cover for him. They will not report that this flood of illegslsnis coming due to Obamas own actions or encouragement.
A lot of those “kids” look like gang bangers which probably explains why the regime is desperately trying to suppress uncontrolled photography.
The real press died after the Eisenhower administration.
All propaganda all the time now.
I wonder if he's going to a "chocolate" prison. Corrupt Black Democrat mayor (but I repeat myself) Who knew?
