I’m with you. From the get go people started talking about lawsuits. I want people in prison for kidnapping. Maybe $100 million would be a good college fund or something, but whatever amount would have to hurt and get attention. Then the judge and the doctors go to JAIL! To sweep this under the rug with a few dollars just won’t do it.
Agree. Lawsuits are eminently appropriate, of course, but what happened here was totalitarian people and agencies committing a crime of force, acting under color of law, and, in the most heinous ways, ripping a daughter from her parents based on a highly questionable medical conclusions.
There can be no justification for these crimes, and justice should be served in every possible way, not just one or two. Every person or agency in this fiasco should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of criminal and civil law.
If nobody goes to prison as a result of this, then justice will not have been served.

No free nation would allow this to happen, even in a “progressive” state like Mass. The Pelletier’s should be awarded with a lottery winning amount here and they and we should have the satisfaction of seeing the doctors and judges who did this go to jail for a good long time. They took away the safely and freedom of this child and caused her and her family untold suffering. It is ridiculous to allow those, who look more and more like criminals, go free.
