W Bush and Perry both live in the past I believe.

Perhaps. But it is their vision of the future that scares me most.

Gov Perry proposed annexing parts of Mexico.

Scary stuff. Almost as scary as his vision of an open border wherein the US would essentially annex all of Mexico.

CIRCA 2003---ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR Gov Perry addresses the Aga Khan:

“It is a great honor to be in the presence of the Imam of 16 million Muslims around the world, a global humanitarian leader, a man of peace with a pluralistic vision for people around the world, His Highness, the Aga Khan, the 49th Hereditary Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims. Your Highness, on behalf of 23 million Texans, and over 600,000 thousand Muslims living in Texas, I extend our heartfelt appreciation for your 50 years of great international leadership."

"We are delighted to welcome you to the Lone Star State and participate in the celebration of your Golden Jubilee. I am also grateful to the many federal, state and local leaders in attendance tonight. By their presence, these special guests convey the profound respect that exists in the Western World for His Highness’ work and leadership.”

In April 2004, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and Univ of Texas-Austin finalized a grant proposal that created the partnership that became known as the Muslim Histories and Cultures Program (MHC).

MHC recruited and directly trained 80 teachers affecting approximately 15,150 students of World History and World Geography in ten key Texas districts in 2005 and 2006.

The purpose is two-fold 1) to fulfill Governor Rick Perry’s desire to better educate Texas teachers on Muslim topics and 2) to train teachers to use a cultural lens approach to understanding other cultures.

Governor Perry was instrumental in getting this program off the ground (and was helpful in getting a triumphal mosque built in Texas and placing Sharia Law in the Texas justice system). ####

I know some people proposing closing the TX borders, the northern borders; annexing resource-rich Mexico, killing all politicians and drug cartels, and forming a new Country.

Perry had no idea he was dealing with savvy, sophisticated voters outside Texas.

Indeed. It is identity politics at its worst. Blacks supported and voted for Obama simply because he was black. Texans supported and voted for Perry simply because he is their governor. Past failures are apparently meaningless. Pro-ILLEGAL alien positions are meaningless. Defending his pro-ILLEGAL alien agenda by labeling real conservatives as heartless was meaningless. He was their governor and that was enough to "earn" their unwavering support.

There is no definition of conservative that I know of that applies to Rick Perry and his pro-ILLEGAL alien, nanny-state, open border's agenda. Moreover, there is no discernible difference from Perry today and that of the Al Gore supporter of the 80s who, when he switched to the GOP said, "I intend to vote the same convictions". In that regard, he is man of his word.

Sure has been quiet in Texas after Perry launched his ‘surge’

Sure has.

Almost like not a damn thing even happened down there. I wonder why....

Yep. I wonder why, too.

Governor P. is now invested in playing rhetorical games with the border.

He over estimates his charm and bravado.

A few DPS dispatched to the byways is no one’s idea of action, or of securing a 1200 mile border suffering INVASION.

That combined with a news BLACKOUT means we are not gaining bragging rights on securing anything.

No surprise at all. Governor Mumbles' rhetoric may fool the gullible but it will not fool anyone who knows his record.
