The Administration of Maine Gov. Paul LePage (R) will implement plans to eliminate state support for illegal aliens who apply for or receive General Assistance benefits. Although the plan is consistent with a federal ban on aid to illegal aliens, Maine Attorney General Janet Mills (D) said the move may be unconstitutional.
Since December, LePage has sought to prohibit state aid from flowing to illegal aliens to bring General Assistance standards in line with qualifications for federal aid such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and food stamps.

You all might want to consider the option of defunding any department headed by an elected Democrat if you are a Republican Governor.
It IS your job to spend the state’s money wisely right Gov? It is your authority to allocate and budget right Gov?

He will. Most people don’t know who this guy is, but he’s one of the best governor’s in the country right now.
Take it easy on this guy. He’s working against a heavy political tailwind. Of course he has the support of most of the Mainer. We’re talking about the whitest state in the nation with a bunch of libs in the legislative and other key positions.
He should. they all should. Hardball or nothing.
Defund the departments to the elected Dem and a secretary. When the suits start, tie them up in court indefinitely or just ignore them. It is long past time that any elected right wing pol stops capitulating and starts reclaiming their authority. And using it like a hammer.
I want him to do the right thing. I have no issue with him. I am just saying that he better not go the traditional GOP route. If he wants to do anything good for the people of his state, he should gut the source of his problems.
We, the secession movement of Maine, have informed LePage that the AG is dreaming. He has all the authority he needs under the Maine State Constitution to refuse welfare to non citizens.
I live in Maine, and I voted for Paul LePage in November, 2010 and will gladly do so again this November.
A few days after taking office in January, 2011, LePage ended Maine’s status as a sanctuary state for illegals.
He also founght, and continues to fight, the Medicare expansion under Obamacare (at the state level). LePage is a very strong Second Amendment guy.
A few days ago, a conservative defeated the RINO and won the Republican primary for the House of Representatives in Maine’s Second Congressional District. The conservative (Bruce Poliquin) won by 12 points.

My Dad’s home state. He was born in Van Buren and there are some tough people up there. Very conservative. I think the damage comes from all those libs that move to the large cities.

Let’s say (for the sake of argument) all the folks being shipped wherever from points south are so-called ‘dreamers’; potential low-wage workers; future democrat voters. Which ethnic group do you think we be most negatively affected by this? Ans: The same group that has strong opinions against sodomy. Oh, and by the way, along with losing the middle east, African Christians are being massacred wholesale, but who cares? Today’s the anniversary of the OJ and the White Bronco chase.

The fact that people are being flown and bussed in without even check is just ASKING for a disaster in the making. This is why countries have immigration laws. If we started shipping people to Canada like this, the Canadian Mounties would be blowing up the Peace and Ambassador bridges, and roadblocking I-5 north of Seattle.
Yet, we’re just sitting here taking it all in.
All it takes in a couple of people with some infectious disease that we’re not even checking for, then it literally become a matter of which Governor decided to give Washington the middle finger, and take matters into their own hands.
And yes, by the way, I am advocating just that, along with whatever patriotic military we have left. Yes, America - it just may come to that. We may need ‘A Few Good Men’ - if you know what I mean.
At this rate we may wake up tomorrow missing part of our electrical grid, computer viruses, and who knows what a Russian bomber or a ‘dreamer’ might do if we decided to get trigger happy somewhere else on the planet.
We are in PERIL right now.
The power plant blowing up in AZ is an indicator. Oh, and a friend and I did a little math and came up with something: Remember all that ammo the government has been buying? Well, in most cases, they were buying more ammo that each department could handle. What if NO ONE in those agencies were really getting most of that ammo, but it somehow got passed to ‘undocumented’ folks who happen to be getting housed at military bases?

This is the first time I’ve had time to write anything in a long time. Been working too many hours just like everyone else to make ends meet. But I have the nagging feeling that all is about to crash...
... and it may result in a blood-letting the world has never seen.
My advice: Tell your kids you love them tonight, then have a good talk with the better half. It’s about to get ugly.

lots of people who are not normally political are voting for lepage this time. Even people who cannot admit it in public.
