Jail mug shot of Gregory Walter (Gregg) Jarrett. (Hennepin County jail)
Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett, said by the network to be on leave to address serious personal issues, has been charged with a misdemeanor after his arrest in a Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport bar, where he was very intoxicated and combative toward officers.
Jarrett, 59, is charged in Hennepin County District Court with a misdemeanor, obstructing the legal process and interfering with a police officer. His arraignment is scheduled in an Edina courtroom June 6.
The weekend co-anchor on the Fox News Channel was arrested about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday at Northern Lights Grill in the main terminal, said airport spokesman Patrick Hogan.
Jarrett was in Minnesota for alcohol or chemical dependency treatment, according to a detailed police accounting of the incident.
An employee called police to say Jarrett appeared to be acting very intoxicated, according to an Airport Police Department report released Thursday.
Officers responded and found Jarrett to be uncooperative, resistant and combative during his arrest, according to the report. It did not disclose whether he had his blood-alcohol level measured by police.
Jarrett, who calls the New York City suburb of Larchmont home, posted $300 bond and was released from custody shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, according to jail records. His jail mug shot shows him with a full salt-and-pepper beard, a different look than the typically close-shaven appearance that viewers were used to seeing.
Jarrett has yet to respond to telephone and e-mail messages seeking comment about his arrest....

Don’t forget Laurie Dhue....( gawd, she was gorgeous)..she made it all the way back..
I like him..he’s tightly wrapped, f’sure..but he brooked no nonsense with his guests, especially libtards..
“If a person is serious about quitting, Alcoholics Anonymous works as well as anything. AA costs a lot less too.”
People that I listen too say, if you go to a low bottom indigent detox, sober-living facility, or high end luxury hospital, at the end they ALL recommend you have a Big Book, and regularly attend AA meetings.
I simply started at the AA meetings, and have stuck with them.
But you have to be ready. Obviously if this guy was drinking right after release, he wasn’t ready yet. Maybe he needs to kill somebody with his car, lose his job or family, etc. first—like many do.
Many in entertainment are afflicted with alcoholism-addiction.
I believe it may partly be connected to the “creativity gene.” Artists, writers, actors, performers, etc.
Since he had just gotten out he may have been trying to prove to himself he could drink. Hope this incident convinces him he can’t. It’s a difficult disease
does everybody have to see politics in everything...there is more to life than liberal conservative you know that right haha, whatever his issues are I doubt they are political
Perhaps E. D. Hill was drinking buddies with Gregg Jarrett.
They played a game of taking a drink everytime obama lied.
My son is a social worker Many alcoholics are self medicating mental problems. Vets it’s often PTSD but can be anything from minor depression to major issues. Those issues must be treated first sober then deal with long term drinking patterns. 12 step work provides a great support group
Ok so Laurie Dhu was drinking buddies with Jarrett.
yes!!!!
Jarett should have been in prison long time ago!!!Prison..for Treason and being ugly.
Medical research has known since the 1950s that its a legitimate medical condition. Actually runs in the same families of diabetics— improper processing of sugar. Unfortunately society has chosen to treat it as a social choice. Maybe if we sent folks to hospital and educated them like we do diabetics we’d make progress earlier in the disease with fewer folks in the final (4-5) stages
Gosh, I hope not. I always liked her and she apparently kept her alcoholism from being evident while she was on T.V. I think she has something to do with The Blaze now.
“Obstructing the legal process and interferring with an officer” are what I call “We’ll get you on something” laws. In the good old days you got arrested for what you were doing. If you were drunk in public, you were charged with being drunk in public. It was pretty well accepted that you probably wouldn’t cooperate.

In the early days you had to be screened to get into AA. Lots of times Dr. Bob would interview someone then tell them “You haven’t hurt enough yet.”
Sounds like he went to Hazelden. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was forced to go.
A Big Book costs a lot of money at Hazelden and at Betty Ford. The insurance company paid around $12,000 for my Big Book back in 1985. They’re a lot more expensive these days.
Didn’t recognize him. I wouldn’t have known who it was if they hadn’t posted his name.
Ego is a big part of the problem. People who like to be in front of a camera tend to have big egos.
I wish the best for him - hopefully he can find peace for whatever is at the cause of his troubles.
His Twitter account is very strange. Reads now like a lot of anger there for quite a while.
Lost a much loved colleague last year.
Great guy - very likeable and good at his job, despite his addiction.
Got fired and was dead three months later.
Shame,Prayers for him.
