A couple of guitar videos I came across on youtube. [Vanity]

Matt Otten. This is a true virtuoso jazz guitarist IMO. Very smooth, effortless, style similar to Jim Hall. Maybe some will find him too cerebral but I could watch him move around the neck of that guitar for hours. One oddity about him is he seems to have never gigged or jammed with anyone else except rarely, a vocalist. All his videos are accompanied by backing tracks.

Can't believe I never heard of this Australian guy before! His name is Tommy Emmanuel
Classical Acoustic

Tommy playing the blues. He is probably most famous for this style. I never heard anyone play this fast on an acoustic. If you don't know who Stevie Ray Vaughn is and/or don't like his music you're unlikely to enjoy this. Solo performance, as usual.

This is really wild rag of some sort with Joshco Stephan - sounds like a banjo piece. Crazy stuff! I love it, but some will find it grating.

What a hack! LOL! I could have all my guitars lined up at the same time and not even come close to any of this. :<{

Tommy Emmanuel is absolutely mind blowing. I first heard him a few years back and I couldn’t believe it.

Tommy is fantastic and his brother is no slouch!

There are. A lot of great guitarists on YT. Have you seen Sam Swank or Macyn Taylor? Macyn...busker12, IIRC, was especially interesting a few years, ago when she was a early teen. Now she has matured into a beautiful woman and her playing is excellent...but now instead of jeans she dresses like a woman and that is somehow distracting...at least to me...

You ever hear this one? Tommy playing in harmonics, this is incredible. He makes his guitar sound like a harp.

Tommy Emmanuel is probably the best acoustic guitar player ever. There is a Korean-American girl, Sandra Bae, who is probably going to surpass Tommy Emmanuel in the next few years. She has played on stage with him a few times and can match him lick for lick.

Check out a few of her videos on you tube.

Steve Howe has a few YT videos, taken in a studio. I followed his playing of Mood for Day to facilitate learning that piece. He also appears to play effortlessly.

Mood for a Day
Clap

There is no substitute for time in practice, to get better, but there are some tips that make the practice time more effective. The goal really is to make playing "that" a comfortable, confident experience, and that is possible.

Fretkillr's posts were taken down for copyright infringement, but they can be found (on YT). His rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow is excellent.

Man, I miss that guy, he was a trip. I saw him a few times in concert, some of the best jamming I ever seen, especially when he went on tour with Jeff Beck. And there he is in his gunslinger get up lol lol. “Now DRAW! oh you got me!”

Saw him at the Brevard County Fair in Fl not too long before his demise. He was clean and talked about it on stage and then got to crankin’. Miss him. A LOT!

You ever hear this, Hendrix on an extended guitar solo on Stone free? The video is out of sync but this is incredible all the same. The guy goes off into another world....

I was just watching this vintage Pat Metheny Group Video back from 1980.....I really miss this era of group. His recent stuff cannot hold a candle to this.

Yeah that was horrible, I remember staring at the TV for like 10 minutes without moving “SRV killed in helicopter crash” and what made it worse was the guy got clean and at least to me put out the best album he ever did “In Step” and he dies. It’s always the brilliant ones, it’s never the frauds or the no talents.
