It’s Houston. Abandon all hope. Carry.

If I had a choice, I’d take a covered wagon rather than fly commercial.
From IAH to Webster, I’d suggest I-59 south, then exit onto I-45 south. (It’s a right exit, not too far past Loop 610...start staying to right once you pass the loop).
Traffic should be fine, until you have to exit to I-45... then, it’s going to suck.
I wouldn’t take either loop (610, or Beltway 8) unless it is raining. If it is? you might want to consider it. No tolls on 610, that’s the way I go when weather is bad. About $7 worth on Beltway 8... Usually better to just tough it out on the free roads. Just, expect it to take 1 1/2 hours.
From Post Oak? You pretty much have to start on 610 Loop, Northbound to start. From there? You have two options.
1) Hardy Toll Road North. (Tolls ~ 3.75) During high traffic times? I recommend taking this one.. it goes RIGHT where you want to go. There is an exit for IAH.
2) Exit I-10 East.. get immediately into the left lane, then take I-59 North. There will be signs for IAH. AVOID I-45 North. It’s a disaster, usually. 59 moves faster.
But, the Hardy is probably your best option. In high traffic times? Allow at least 1 hour.
Good luck!
BTW>> I’m heading there tomorrow. There is a HUGE conference going on. The Off Shore Technology Conference. More than 80,000 people. And, there are a few other conferences going on as well.
ALL the restaurants and entertainment sites will be PACKED. Be sure to make a reservation in advance for ANY nice place. It’s always recommended, in Houston. But, this week? It’s a MUST. It’s going to be CRAZY!
Johnny is right!
Besides there IS NO good way to drive around Houston, two hours before or after Rush Hour. The only safe, fast way is by helicopter.
