Illegal Immigration: Will Illinois' GOP leadership abandon the party's platform?
Illinois Review ^ | april 19 2014 | Illinois Review

CHICAGO - Next Tuesday, Illinois GOP officials will join with the Illinois Business Immigration Coalition to urge Congress to pass what they call "immigration reform".

Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner will be participating, along with past and present GOP leaders, including U.S. House Speaker Denny Hastert, former governors Jim Edgar and Jim Thompson, State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka, Illinois Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno and Illinois House Minority Leader Jim Durkin.

Depending on the outcome of the meeting, the Republican lineup may be putting itself in opposition to their party's platform, which states (section VIII):

A. We are a nation of immigrants, and the Republican Party welcomes those who respect our laws and seek freedom and opportunity in our great country. We believe it is only right to expect that our new residents come in through the front door and join us in society as fellow Americans. Further, we advocate retaining the right to adopt and enforce prudent policies relating to the numbers of immigrants America welcomes each year and their individual contributions to our nation’s needs.

B. We call on the Federal Government to streamline the task of citizenship for legal immigrants to assimilate and complete the process of becoming Americans.

C. We call for the granting of full citizenship rights to be granted to any immigrant upon the completion of service to the armed forces of the United States.

D. Those who have been deported for violating our laws by their conduct as residents of the United States – should not be granted a second opportunity to take their place among us; this is a matter both of self‐protection and of upholding the public trust.

“Immigration reform”....I keep hearing that over and over and over, but what exactly are they trying to “reform”? Someone please explain that to me...Does it entail deporting everyone who isn’t suppose to be here or giving citizenship to foreign invaders so Democrats can use them for votes? A or B?

If you can, invite black churches, especially the one with the minister who endorsed the republican candidate for governor. Blacks are hurting more in this economy with unemployment, and would be natural allies.

At this point I’ve come around to the position that I don’t care if the WHOLE STATE of Illinois goes down the toilet. The corruption has apparently spread from the Cook county DimocRAT machine and has even infected the so called opposition party (the Illinois GOP).

Will they abandon the platform?

Of course they will.

It’s all the rage now, doncha know.

Nevada pubbies abandoned the social and moral aspects of the platform. Why not abandon the immigration aspects of it as well?

So, what’s left? Fiscal “conservatism”?

Can you be fiscally responsible if you have no moral compass? After all Scrooge was fiscally responsible, eh?

Absolutely..... Give the RED CARPET to people who defied our laws, crossing illegally into the country without passports or bonafide I.D, and give the middle finger to all the kind, decent law loving people who worked hard to pay the $110 for the interview, giving a true ID photo, fingerprints, and tell them to STAY in their squalor and hand it out on a DISH of silver platter to those who defied our laws. Makes a lot of sense. It didn’t work with Simpson Rodino in 1983 and it won’t work now. Mexico is a great place. Mexico would be blessed, tickled to get our intelligent people to come back and be supportive of law and order gov’t and bring their skills to Mexico. I saw let the hammer fall. Like the Degree from Cesar Agustus who said all the WORLD should be taxed, and a Virgen girl gave birth and fulfilled bible Prophecy. Seem them home like Claudius of Rome sent the JEWS out of Rome, and a church started in Corinth. I see many positive factors of being a country of LAW... Oh...but your President is wanting the votes...sorry.

The Republicans have long had to contend with a faction that believed that business is more important than anything else, including the constitution, and even the United States.

To a great extent, it was this overriding impulse that doomed the Whig party, predecessor to the Republicans, in that they to some extent supported slavery, but *only* because they thought it was “good for business”. You see how vacuous they are?

The next time they really stuck out like a sore thumb was during the Coolidge administration, with the president of that faction declaring that “the business of America is business”.

FDR pretty much relegated the Republicans to second class status, and this faction adapted, both to perpetual minority status, and to the idea that what was good for business, not ideology or core values, was what the Republican party should represent.

The reemerged during the Eisenhower years as the “Country Club Republicans”, who were to a great extent elitist snobs and big businessmen. Very comfortable in the role of the minority, more and more they agreed with the liberal left about the future of America, but just wanted it more gradually.

After having undermined and ruined the ascension of Goldwater during the 1964 election with LBJ, in a lopsided loss because of Kennedy sympathy, the Country Club Republicans blamed conservatism for the loss.

They peaked with the election of Richard Nixon, who many considered “the president of the united corporations” and in whose administration, corporations held sway over much domestic policy, that the Democrats would allow.

The Republican status quo continued until Ronald Reagan. He truly and deeply traumatized the Country Clubbers, yet forced them to realize that while they were business supremacists, the path to this was through liberalism.

And this cause their most recent mutation into liberal Republicans In Name Only. The GOP-e.

And for once, they are visible as what they really are, like cockroaches on the floor of a dark kitchen when the light is turned on.

They care about business and only business. They despise conservatives, and owe little loyalty to the constitution and the United States itself. Their loyalty is to their business cronies.

The IL Republican Party is the Donkey-lite version of Democrap Party. The Uni-party is called “The Combine” and dominates Cook and Sangamon Counties; home to the state's biggest city and state capital. The Chamber of Commerce and big crony capitalists want “immigration reform” to lockout U.S. workers from well paying jobs. They want to exclude U.S. workers in exchange for cheaper foreign labor they can pay slave labor wages. They are the new generation of master owners and slave workers — and that is just fine, thank you very much.

We lower the elites taxes and look what happens. They arenolonger conservativeand theones that still are completely feckless. If this is the way they want to play then we should start raising the taxes on the upper 1/2% and lower them propoirtionately on us. They stab us in the back we staba them in the front.
