Dukakis Cautions Hillary on 2016, and sympathizes with Mitt Romney and Bob Dole!

During a call-in to the nationally renowned Least Dangerous Podcast with JC King, Former Presidential Candidate and Governor Michael Dukakis cautioned Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about her prospects of becoming the Democratic Nominee for President, “Believe me, neither she, nor anyone else can take that for granted.” Using his own experience as a barometer he continued, “I was 40 points ahead with 5 weeks to go when I ran for reelection in 1978 and I got beaten.” He did praise her saying her experience in the Obama administration has made her a primary choice for the party, “She did a hell of a job as Secretary of State and people have a lot of admiration for her.” Reflecting on his own loss in 1988, Governor Dukakis sympathized with two Republican candidates who also fell short, Mitt Romney and Bob Dole. “Mitt was Governor of Massachussetts…was a decent enough guy, and part of your job (as a candidate) is to give people a real sense of who you really are. I don’t think Romney did it very well, I’m not sure I did it really well. You know, Bob Dole is one of the funniest, wittiest guys I ever met, and the poor guy in that 1996 race looked like an undertaker!” To hear the full interview check out the latest episode of the Least Dangerous Podcast available now on I-Tunes, Stitcher, Tune In, and Soundcloud.

I think let’s just have all the people that ran for President in the last 20 years just get up and go for it again.

Maybe we could have Dancing with the Presidential Candidates and see how that goes. Either way we’re gonna have final two that nobody wants. The heffer Clinton and probably Shrub III.

“She did a hell of a job as Secretary of State and people have a lot of admiration for her.”

Yet no one can offer up even 1 accomplishment although she did reduce the Benghazi operating staff by 4 in her version of reducing costs.

You know, Bob Dole is one of the funniest, wittiest guys I ever met, and the poor guy in that 1996 race looked like an undertaker!

Because consultants warned him his humor sounded "too mean-spirited."

Better to lose as yourself than to win as Plastic Man.

Dukakis was 40 points ahead WITH THE MEDIA who were trying to pound that info to the public to make them think the election was over.

What they did was convince Dems that they didn’t need to go out to vote, thankfully giving him a loss.

They tried to do the opposite with Bush II and almost made him lose, because he was looking so good before the first election. Supporession of the turnout motivation almost made AlGore the prosident. I know I dindt vote that year because Rush Limbaugh had said it was all in Bush’s favor. (I know.. very stupid, but I was home sick)

She did accumulate more Frequent Flyer Miles than any 100 airline employees, combined, in world history!

Dukakis is somewhat hyper-partisan but seems to be basically a decent human being.

Nominating someone like that for President in 1988 was the last time the Democrats made that mistake.

Dukakis was talking about when he lost the Democrat renomination as Governor in 1978 to Conservative Ed King. King was the last Conservative Governor of MA (1979-83).
