Lead is lead, brass is brass, primer chemicals are primer chemicals, gun powder is gun powder, a stamp press is a stamp press, and labor is labor regardless of the bullet produced. They are all used in a factory that produces rounds.

No, not true...the lead is confirgured into wire.. copper cups or wash... brass strip or cups.. not as simple as you state. For high volume production that is the standard today to be profitable, the old machinery does not work out over the long haul or even in the short term unless you don’t have a profit margin. Go to Lake City Arsenal, straight out of WW2, look inside ATK/Federal or Olin Winchester, light years ahead... way ahead, that cost money to have modern facility and the companies that produce the high speed modern arsenal equipment are 3 in total, none here in the USA and only one of the 3 three make 22LR equipment! Get in line for the equipment then wait years to get the Capital back.... YEARS. The larger profits in this market are with the retailers, not the OEM’s of ammo.
