Yes, Jon Rubinstein, called the "Podfather" for his role in developing Apple's portable music player.

I have been undwhelmed with Apple as far as recent product “WOW”... the company seems to be somewhat stagnating in that regard. Evolutionary change, not Revolutionary, which is what made Apple.
BUT - folks complaining at Apple’s “hoard” of cash - they should see that has a positive, putting them in a position to weather whatever storms may come.

Tim Cook’s statement attacking shareholders who didn’t agree with him should have gotten him kicked out.

Tony Fadell started working for Apple in February 2001 as a contractor designing the iPod and planning Apple’s audio product strategy. During that time, he created the concept and initial design of the iPod. He was then hired by Apple to assemble and run its iPod & Special Projects group in April 2001. He was tasked with overseeing the design and production of the iPod and iSight devices, following the direction of Jon Rubinstein. He was promoted to vice president of iPod engineering in 2004 and on October 14, 2005, Apple announced that Fadell would replace the retiring Jon Rubinstein as Senior Vice President of the iPod Division on March 31, 2006.
Of course Fadell left Apple in 2008 to start NEST, the learning thermostat company, which was recently acquired by Google for $3.2Bn. Maybe HE should come back to Apple, as he’s got a track record of doing something after “fathering” the iPod. Rubenstein has been at Apple during that time, and has accomplished what?
