But every time I suggest that to a young woman here they reply “I am not interested in doing that” and many waste their parents $$$ on useless educations that leave them with the other jobs on the list.
My Mom was an RN and my sister is one.

My daughter’s friend who is single and lives in Kansas had someone come to her and ask if she would be interested in keeping foster kids. She went through the training on the weekends and took in one school age brother and his sister. Then the agency asked her if she would take the “rest of the children” - five others plus druggie mom was about to have another one. So she talked one of her girlfriends into quitting her job and they leased a big house and now have all eight children. Court made mom give up parental rights and have her tubes tied. Ages baby to 10 years. She is formally adopting them all this month. Been interesting and certainly not without problems but they are all doing well. They home school, kids all play sports, attend church. At least they were able to salvage one family.
God Bless her for doing that. It takes a special person to look after anothers child, much less 8 of them!
Yes, I found that interesting, as well. The abused 5 year old in TX may or may not have anything to do with “economic inequality” or poverty or whatever.
We should be ashamed of ourselves.
