The Seekers - Well Well Well

Refrain:
Well, well, well, who’s that callin’?
Well, well, well, hold my hand.
Well, well, well, night is a-fallin’,
Spirit is a-movin’ all over this land.

Lord told Noah, build him an ark,
Build it out of hickory bark.
Old ark a-movin’, and the water start to climb,
God said a fire, not a flood next time.

(refrain)

God said fire comin’ judgement day,
He said all mankind gonna pass away.
Brothers and sisters don’t you know?
You’re gonna reap just what you sow.

(refrain)

World’s not waitin’ for the lord’s command,
Buildin’ a fire that’ll sweep the land.
Thunder out of heaven, comin’ gabriel’s call;
And the sea’s gonna boil and the sky’s gonna fall.

Behold the instrument of God’s judgment against America.

God will not be mocked.

In addition even in areas where there is not heavy ash, it will be difficult to grow food as the ash is sterile. Combine that with extended cooling (SWAG, years) things would be very challenging.

Heck, I just started SSI in January (64 in Dec), and go on Medicare in September (3 mos early), but I’m not holding my breath. When “it” comes, it comes.

Well, the NFL would authorize yellow arm bands for the rest of the season and plans would be underway for a super star concert in NYC to raise money for the DNC.

“... Don’t know whether it would be a planet wide EXTINCTION Level Event, but it would certainly mean the end of life for humans in North America, for the most part...”

The last super volcano eruption was a near ELE - only a few hundred people survived worldwide. Given today's civilization - only those living in the most isolated and primitive of societies would have any chance of survival.

People who lived 20 miles away from Krakatoa went deaf from the initial blast shock wave.

On the bright side, we wouldn't have to listen to The Won and his minions bloviating-on incessantly.

Here's the thing with Yellowstone.
1. If it blows, will it be "the big one?" That's unknown. A. Huckleberry Ridge was the real big one. 2.1 million years ago
B. Mesa Falls was much "smaller" 1.3 million. That's still bigger than Tambora, but not an "end of the world" type of thing.
C. Lava Creek was 640,000 years ago. Most recent "big one."

2. Humans survived Lava Creek. Humans survived Lake Toba. Humans survived Lake Taupo eruptions (twice, most recently 180AD). Tambora, Santorini (Atlantis story), Krakatoa.

Disasters are a part of nature. They happen. How people deal with them, be it the big earthquake, tornado, fire, volcano, cold snap, drought, etc is what's important. Adapt or die.

Volcanism is a young science. Western civilization has little experience with volcanism until the "new" world. Vesuvius, Mt Etna, and a few others. An old World Book encyclopedia listed Mt St Helens as "extinct." Krakatoa opened some eyes. Mt St Helens opened more. Pinatubo was a game changer. There's a lot people really don't know about volcanoes.

Bored much he must be...

You try being totally omniscient for a few billion (or even 6 thousand) years and see if you get bored!
