Hollywood Blacklist
Chuck Morse Speaks ^ | March 29, 2014 | Chuck Morse

Posted on 03/29/2014 6:19:45 PM PDT by Chuckmorse

Kevin Sorbo, star of God’s Not Dead told a reporter at Faith, Media & Culture that by simply voting for the best person, that, in itself, is enough to get me blacklisted in Hollywood.

Marius Forte, who co-authored with Sam Sorbo, radio talk show host and wife of Kevin Sorbo, The Answer: Proof of God in Heaven notes: We all know that Hollywood leans left and is uncomfortable with a Christian based message. Left-wing Hollywood seems impervious to the fact that God’s Not Dead opened on only 780 screens yet the movie, without benefiting from a mega-media roll-out that often accompanies liberal Hollywood movies, grossed an astonishing $8.9 million weekend and a huge $9525 per screen average.

Following the traditions of Hollywood in its hey-day, circa the 1930’s when associating with a communist front group was a prerequisite for employment, today’s Hollywood appears to be run by a cadre of leftists who impose an informal litmus test on who gets hired and who is banned for not toeing the left-wing line. Sorbo, who established himself in Hollywood before coming out as a Christian and as a political Independent, is on the blacklist, and he has been roundly criticized for his conservative views and beliefs.

Marius Forte observes that the Hollywood power brokers, those who have benefited from American free-market capitalism to degrees that average working people could only fantasize about, give preference to films and TV shows that portray the Church and its followers as the natural villain. From The Borgia's, the series that portrayed Pope Alexander as a whoring madman obsessed with power and his offspring as sadistic murderers, to Red Riding Hood, where the villain, who cooks a young boy alive in a bronze steer, is of course from the cloth. Portraying the Church Cardinals and Priests, as mad deranged villains appears longstanding and obligatory, the Gospel of Hollywood if you will.

Forte proves his point by noting that if any of these Christian figures were replaced with characters that represented any other minority, the movie would be branded as racist and bigoted and the participants would be blacklisted forever.

Forte identifies the source of the animus emanating from the Hollywood elite who make up a substantial percentage of the top 1% richest of Americans. They reject the moralistic message of the Church says Forte. They seek to re-educate Americans, in the tradition of communist agit-prop, to move Americans away from the Christian morals and ethics that have formed the foundation of American culture. Based on the evidence of the success of God’s Not Dead, they are failing at least with the average working people to whom they hold in such contempt. Then along comes a film that does exactly the opposite. God's Not Dead carries a message of God and reasons openly for His existence. That message, to the power elite, must almost seem as a declaration of war. How dare they go against what Hollywood has declared as the truth and the only truth?

Hollywood excommunicates believing Christians for their sacrilegious behavior. They are banned from the altar of Hollywood with a blacklist and, for those who infiltrate with conservative movies. a wall of silence.

Chuck Morse is an Orthodox Jew. He and Don Feder, also an Orthodox Jew, defend Christians.

Know what, its time to create a Hollywood alternative for Christian movies. Christian music has done so and make profits while reaching audiences.

The article lost me completely at the second paragraph.

Hollyweird is as nasty and anti-Christian as described.

On the other hand, the described portrayal of the Borgias matches contemporaneous writings about them pretty closely. They really were that bad except for Alonso Borgia (Pope Calixtus III.)

Saw Kevin Sorbo for a second time tonight in “God’s Not Dead”. He does a very good job as the atheist professor. Very believable...

This is not really "news" Hollywood USED to put out some very Christian movies. But that ended around 1975.

One constant, Ray is liberalism.

It's the bond that holds Hollywood together.

And blacklists? The 40's and 50's have NOTHING on how far a conservative is allowed to go in Tinseltown.

Commies have ALWAYS been welcome. Conservatives, not so much.

The ONLY reason Hollywood (No, NOT McCarthy) created the blacklist in the 50s was NOBODY would tolerate seeing films that did nothing but denigrate America and glorify communism.

IMHO, the only reason Reagan was "allowed" to make B-movies back then, and to become SAG President is because he was a "liberal" at the time.

You will NEVER see a SAG President who isn't a total pinko ever again.

Everyone who insists that Christians and conservatives are blacklisted, please explain the continued success of actors Patricia Heaton and Jim Caviezel, and sitcom creator Matt Williams (Roseanne and Home Improvement).

I like Kevin Sorbo, but he starred in a goofy, albeit entertaining, kids’ show for years. Then a lesser-viewed sci fi space soap. You don’t get offered the second lead in Mission: Impossible coming off work like that. What’s he complaining about? He has succeeded wildly where the vast majority fail. Why wasn’t he “blacklisted” from his two hit series?

Hollywood is committing suicide now anyway as they continue to outsource so much of their labor to other states and countries. A growing cottage industry of Christian independent films will continue to grow as Hollywood becomes more irrelevant.

One thing we as Christians can do is make sure that not a dime of our spending ends up in Hollywood. We should support these independent film makers every chance we get. As for me, I like to watch Randy Anderson Calling all Coyotes videos, so I guess I’m lunatic fringe anyway.
