This would probably have gotten me arrested. Consider this story and you might feel the same way.
A drooling moron who runs a high school in Minnesota decided that following fire alarm rules was more important than the physical well being of the students the rules were written to protect. Obviously unable to think for himself, Principal Dan Mesick who administers Como Park Senior High School in St. Paul could not understand that a student who happened to be swimming when the alarm went off must be given an opportunity to dry off and get dressed or stand inside the building until the extent of the danger was determined.
When the alarm went off, the schools officials forbade Kayona Hagen-Tietz, a fourteen year old girl, from retrieving her clothes and either standing in a safe location in the school or...

And these are the people to whom we entrust our children. So lacking in mental abilities that they have to have a book to tell them how to think.
I know.
But a fire drill?
Unngh.
In event of a real fire, we wouldn’t have been standing not twenty feet from the building, we’d have been as far away as possible.
And we’d have grabbed our coats anyway.

The glory of Policy Manuals is that no one has to be personally responsible - a perfect scheme for the intellectual and moral bankrupts that operate the Public school system.
A fire in an adjacent area could cause the roof to collapse.
The poor girl should have pointed her hand like a gun. Then she would have been promptly be taken from the other students outside and put into a warm room until the police arrived
One of the qualifications to be a school administrator must be that they have NO common sense and can’t think for themselves. They will blindly follow policy no matter what.
The seamless personal indemnification shell around public school employees must be shattered before any improvement can take place.
The involved principal and teachers in this case should have been arrested for criminal endangerment and child abuse.
