I disagree. Paul had obviously not been speaking Hebrew prior to that or they would have realized He spoke Hebrew before that. I should be obvious to the reader that he had to prove to them he could actually speak Hebrew. That passage would tend to prove that Paul generally spoke Greek thus the people didnt realize he could speak Hebrew.
Fair enough...

Not what I'm trying to show here. It's a given that Paul spoke Greek, as it is documented in Acts 21:37. What we see here is that the Hebrew people despised anything Greek.
Acts 21:28...And besides, he has brought Greeks into the temple and defiled this holy place.
Acts 21: 31 While they were trying to kill him, news reached the commander of the Roman troops that the whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar.
It's not too likely they would have allow Greek copies of the NT text into places of worship either...
.
About as ignorant a conclusion as any human being could possibly make!
Paul was a Pharisee Rabbi, educated at the feet of Gamaliel.
Hebrew was his native language, and Greek was universally despised by all Hebrews, since the Macccabean Revolt.
Never having studied any history, you might not understand that.
