Unfortunately, our FRiends are under the illusion that older is necessarily better. They are also so Greek-blindered as to be unaware that that Old Syriac Aramaic is a contemporary of the oldest complete (non fragmentary) MSS in the Greek, and are unaware of the long-standing relationship of the Hebrew with the Peshitta.
Being unacquainted with Hebrew mores and customs, they can't see the flaws, and so, see no need for comparative study, and have no desire to resolve the problem.
But do not worry - ignorance can be remedied. : )
