It was not “overthrown” - the leadership was constitutionally impeached. Get your facts straight.

Also remember the receiving line of Ukrainians who “greeted” the Jews heading to their deaths at Babi Yar with rubber truncheons.

I saw that and don’t agree with him. But this is interesting:

When the Soviet Union collapsed I was invited to come to the CIA and explain to them why they had gotten it so wrong. The difference with the CIA dated back to the Reagan years. After Reagan got the economy on its feet again with his supply-side policy, he then focused on ending the Cold War. He wanted to end it, not win it....

Once they saw that, they would believe that the pressures that he kept threatening to put on them of a new arms race, of SDI (Strategic Defense Initiative) — you may remember Star Wars — none of this actually happened. It was all Reagan propaganda to make the communists in the Soviet Union agree to negotiate to end the war, rather than to be drawn into an arms race that their economy, at the time, was no longer able to sustain.

So that was Reagan’s approach. The CIA kept telling Reagan, ‘Oh, no, don’t threaten the Soviets with an arms race. They will win!’

So Reagan was really up against the entire establishment on that...And the committee that he appointed me to, we concluded that the CIA was wrong. People took my position in the committee. And this would be an effective threat on the part of Reagan to put pressure on the Communist Party of the Soviet Union to negotiate the end of the war, and it worked! And that’s what happened. So that’s that story.”

It's the same sort of regime change has been the goal in Egypt, Libya, and Syria. Did they really think Putin would stand for it any longer? Look what happened to Syria when nobody put restraints on the direction of the protests.

Exactly correct. You have to assume the US government is supporting some very nefarious groups as it has in Egypt (Muslim Brotherhood), Syria (Al Qeada) and Libya (Islamists Extremists).

The vast vast majority of Ukraine protesters do not belong to these fringe groups

The vast majority of protestors against the Czar weren’t Bolsheviks, neither.

But who is taking advantage of the chaos, that’s the question.

Yeah but that’s not the kind of thing that you just “don’t agree with him” on. That paragraph reveals the entire man. And it turns out that he thinks America is a moral abomination. Therefore I would take this guy’s passionate musings with a grain of salt.

They ARE the vast vast majority of the ones with the molotov cocktails, the stockpiles of rocks and the weapons looted from police stations across Western Ukraine.

“Dr. Roberts is a man who should know a few things about the situation.”

So next to being a 9/11 conspiracist, the guy is also some expert on Ukraine ? There are more neo-nazis in Russia than in Ukraine, Ukraine has its fair share of radicals but “they are all neo-nazis” is simply Russian propaganda line to discredit new Ukrainian authorities.

So it’s your opinion that using a nuke on Japan to end the war was a moral abomination?

Mark Levin, chairman of the NCSJ, an American organization that advocates for Jews in the former Soviet Union, expressed concern that with elections slated for May 25, a future government could result in ultranationalists gaining power in Ukraine. Svoboda, a rightwing nationalist party, was prominent in the protest movement, and party officials have expressed virulently anti-Semitic sentiments.

“It was not “overthrown” - the leadership was constitutionally impeached. Get your facts straight.”

You don’t have your facts straight.

They clearly didn’t follow the constitutional procedure.
That means the procedure used was “unconstitutional”.

Article 111 impeachment must follow a specific set of procedures: Parliament must vote to impeach and then convene a committee to investigate. That committee must investigate and report back to parliament, which must then vote to bring charges. A final vote to convict may only come after receipt of a judgment from the Constitutional Court...

The only other way they can constitutionally replace the president is incapacitation, death, or resignation.

By the way did you notice how many parliament members are still voting? Over 100 are missing, all from one side, according to some reports due to threats of violence.

They used this opportunity of missing parliamentarians the next day to ram through legislation banning the use of Russian language in 13 of 27 provinces...

What would you think if Republican congressmen were kept away from Capital Hill by intimidation, and then the democrats used the opportunity to ram through bills they previously hadn’t been able to?

I didn’t know his views on 9/11. I do know his economic views and that he supported Reagan and “Reaganomics”.

I’m not trying to say they aren’t Nazis. I just don’t respond to the word anymore. It’s been used against me as a simple American Conservative too many times.

Most of the Jews were moved to Crimea and eastern areas. The western Ukraine claim the Russians used the Jews to assist in the starvation of their people.

Wow. There seems to be a concerted effort on FR to label any Ukrainian seeking freedom as a Nazi, and siding with Putin. Nice job, disruptors!
