Conservative New Year's Resolutions

Rightwingpatriot.com would like to wish everyone a happy new year. Let us hope and pray that some sanity is restored to our country in the upcoming year and that, as a nation, we can alter our downward course and set ourselves back onto the path of prosperity and liberty. Let us make a new year's resolution to work harder to support and elect conservatives to all levels of government: local, state, and federal. We need to kick out of office those who do not hold to conservative principles and seek to limit the size and scope of governmental power. Once we've elected politicians who espouse conservative values, let us make another new year's resolution and hold their feet to the fire. If they fail in their duty to represent us, then they need to be called out on it.

Another new year's resolution is to stand our ground, ideologically and monetarily. Let us not shy away from expressing our views (politely of course) and make sure that progressive liberals do not silence us, either through intimidation (the threat of being labeled a racist or sexist) or by being shut out of the debate. We need to force ourselves into every debate in order to present our views to people who may not actually be aware of them and never having been in a position to consider them in a rational manner. By this, I mean those who have been in a liberal vacuum, such as in school or just their home town or state, and haven't really been exposed to conservatives articulating the benefits of the conservative ideology. Some liberals can be reached and it behooves to try. If you can get just one liberal to realize that their worldview is wrong, it's like removing one small rock from a dike. Remove enough rocks and the entire structure collapses.

We should also make a resolution not to empower our foes by rewarding them financially. If an actor or musician dismisses conservative values, such as the free market and individual liberty (and responsibility), then don't buy their music or watch their movies. If a company has a position that is contrary to our ideals, don't support their shows by watching them or buying their products. Reinforce this by contacting them and their advertisers and let them know why you're not supporting them. Be polite as any angry wording will just be used by the left to paint all conservatives as "right-wing nut jobs." Let them know that they have the right to express their beliefs, but that you have the right not to endorse their beliefs.

Make a new year's resolution to let establishment political groups, such as Karl Rove's American Crossroads or the US Chamber of Commerce, that you will not support them or their candidates as that they work against conservatives. Let them know that not only are you not helping them, but that you've sent a donation to a Tea Party group or some other conservative group. Make a resolution not to be silent. Tell others what you're doing and why. Use your social media to call out fake conservative groups and to suggest true conservative groups to support. Do the same for celebrities, actors, sports stars, and others. The truth is that we're the majority in this country, but the progressive left has skillfully created the false narrative that we're few in number and that most Americans lean left. Call out the lies and bias whenever you see it. Write on Facebook, twitter, and even your local newspaper to spread the conservative message.

2014 is the year where we can truly start rescuing America from the clutches of the progressive liberal. Resolve to stand up to them, call them out, and support only those who not only espouse conservative values, but actually practice them. It won't be an easy road but the worst thing to do is remain silent.

A nice New Year’s resolution would be to vote in all elections rather than staying home.

I will and do vote in all elections, but no more McCain or Romney type votes for me.

That’s a good point and one I should have included. I do vote in every election and work hard to research all the candidates and whatever amendments/laws that are being proposed. It drives me crazy when I hear someone else saying that they just Christmas-treed the ballot or that they just went with their gut as they didn’t really understand what they were voting for.
