Sigh. Milk was over $4.00 a gallon at Walmart. At least we’re not using as much, since I stopped buying whole milk.

I’m making vegetable soup. Onion, celery, garlic, bell pepper, and carrots, with curry powder, cumin, and turmeric. It will clear my sinuses! When the other vegetables are cooked, I’ll add a can of pumpkin.

I found a bag of beans at Walmart for “15 bean Cajun Soup.” I’ll make the soup, but I’m not sure if I want to use ham hocks or kielbasa for the meat, and for sure, I will only make half a bag. It makes three quarts of soup.

It sounds good, but it will be a while before I make it. Although, I should probably just eat soup and salads for a while.

We haven’t seen the price hike on milk yet, but I buy it by the quart, and freeze it. It’s $1.38 for the quart, but if I buy a half gallon, it will go bad before I can use it. This way, I can take a quart out of the freezer when I have used the last of the old quart and it will be thawed by morning.

More expensive by the quart, but at least I don’t waste it.
